“Great hotel, not the best location”
The hotel was fantastic. Very clean, beautifully laid out, and good restaurants. We also got upgraded from our originally booked Demi Suite to a Superior Suite which made the stay a lot more enjoyable. The service by the ppol could have been better (hardly anyone walking around to take drinks orders and no food served by the pool). We booked half-board which ended up being a great deal. Renting a car is highly recommended as the location is not ideal (30min drive to main beaches). Parking at the hotel is free.
“poor service behind an expensive facade.”
Geat building and facilities but they are not yet matched by the service levels and attitude of the staff. At a time when the hotel was not even half full. management were anonymous.
“Stunning hotel - would definitely go back”
Had a brilliant week in the middle of March with my daughter and grandson. Hotel is very child friendly and so are the staff. The children's pool was a superb facility and it was great that we were able to relax in the sun knowing that the lifeguard was keeping an extra eye on things. Hotel is really stunning - particularly the affinity pool - however it was rather colder than the other pools so we didn't venture in! Food was plentiful and of good quality - only criticism was that the hot buffet food in the Pangea restaurant was never quite hot enough and also the restaurants didn't open until 7 p.m. which is a little late for a lot of small children. The room we had was luxurious with a lovely quiet terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens - again, a slight criticism was that the timing of the housekeeping was a little haphazard - but the room was always spotlessly clean. All in all we had a really relaxing holiday.
“2nd visit going back next month and new year, good hotel”
Lovely hotel good food super room going back next month !!
“March 2010”
Having read previous reviews on this hotel we would like to put the record straight. Yes the hotel is located on a road behind a service station. The sevice station is brand new and would put most motorway services to shame in the U.K. and it is no way close to the hotel. When we arrived we we met with an imposing front entrance to the Grad Melia which was jaw dropping. The taxi ride from the airport is around 35 minutes and costs around 43 Euro,. We found the costs to be very competitive. The hotel itself was fantastic we stayed on the Red Level which was very quiet The staff were very friendly, helpful and informative. Nothing was to much trouble and we always greeted with a smile. The Red Level pool is lovely with Bali and sun beds with your own towels put out. Coffee water and biscuits are readily available througout the day and are all free. The pool area never felt crowded and you can walk down to the garden where there are more Bali beds and sun loungers. Around 6 oclock tapas and drinks are served from the Red Level Lounge which are all free to guests. We stayed half board which was a good saving. We found the wine and drinks a little expensive but what you would expect in a hotel of this grandure. We did dine out in the other restaurants and found them to be very good. We would recommend this hotel and found it to be a very relaxing and positive experience and can't wait to return.
“Amazing hotel - definitely go there!”
This hotel is stunning, great rooms, great restaurants, stunning pool and spa. I would 100% recommend it, we had a wonderful time. There is no big nightlife, so this hotel is not for you if you want to party. However, if you want to relax it is absolutely wonderful.
“Not all it could be - dissappointed.”
This should have been a wonderful holiday for our familyn of 2 adults and 2 young children aged 5 and 8 but it just didnt hit the button for us - and its no where near in our top half of experience. The hotel is luxurious and has a good setting but there were too many failings. The "family" room was much too small for comfort but we could have lived with that. The food was ok but not brilliant - and the pool side "snack bars" were a joke. The service was strange - there were lots of staff around and they were very friendly but there never seemed to be any service. The prices were ridiculous There were no surrounding cafe's or restaurants and the nearby towns were very dissappointing (which I guess is why the hotel got away with its prices). There was no beach. The kids club was ok (and the staff were great) but it closed between 1-3 pm even when there was 2 days of torential rain and the kids needed someweher to go. On the plus side the pools were good, the gym was great, and it was very clean. All in all, if they are going to set their stall out to be very high quality and charge top prices, they need to up their standards of service, customer care, and managerial flexibility to ensure tghey meet the expectaions that they set. This was just not value for money. We were happy to be on our way home and would have had more fun if we had never have left. We wouldnt take our family back again.
“pleasantly surprised”
staff very freindly couldnt do enough for us nothing was a problem when we asked for resturants to go to we took their advice , they was all really nice! would definatley go back again
“Exceptional Hotel”
Personally my boyfriend and I couldn't really fault the hotel. I have seen some negative reviews on the hotel which have surprised us as we can not say enough about our experience. The hotel in our opinion is quite beautiful and I have travelled extensively around Europe and Asia and have not stayed anywhere as nice. The food on a half board basis was excellent. We couldn't fault the staff. Friendly, helpful & courteous at all times. The only thing that was lacking was any decent entertainment but then we did go just before christmas and the resort was exceptionally quiet. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. However, do consider that there is not a lot going on outside the hotel.
“Stunning Hotel”
This hotel just opened in July 2008 and the facilities are stunning. The staff is incredibly friendly (speak English well), the room designs are unique and the pool areas are gorgeous. The location is the only drawback, as it is somewhat quiet in the surrounding town. They rarely get Americans visiting, but we felt very welcome!
