Friendly Hotel Dream Gran Tacande

Posted 18-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed for 1 week 9th-16th May 2014, large waste ground/building site outside entrance of hotel and building work ongoing at rear. The hotel itself is very nice,I paid to upgrade to seaview room on arrival it was well worth the extra £s,the hotel is spotless and I would recommend half board basis as the food is good. However the best thing on offer is the quality of service, all the staff are very friendly and attentive, would stay again. One last moan only tv channels in English are news channels.

Wonderful hotel

Posted 23-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
Having seen good reviews for the hotel, we knew that it was going to be good, but it really exceeded our expectations. The food and service from all members of staff was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is just minutes walk from the 'El Duque' beach and in the centre of this 5* resort. If you like your shopping, there is a very smart shopping centre just across the road. There is a lovely promenade to walk along the front - if you turn left you will find the more touristy area with bars, restaurants and souvenir shops whereas if you turn right it is more upmarket (and expensive!). The hotel does have some activities including yoga, water aerobics, darts, Spanish lessons etc although these are low key and not well attended. There is also professional entertainment every night as well as pianists in the bar. We went half board and you can have your meals in the main restaurant or outside on the terrace. We never had to wait for a table even outside which was much busier. There are plenty of sunbeds and the sun terrace is very spacious. Some people do reserve beds but if you're not fussy about where you sit you will always find a spare bed. There were 2 larger pools, both a lovely temperature but salt water. This is the only negative I can find about the hotel, it really made your eyes sting! We travelled with our 16 year old daughter, there weren't many other British families there and not many teenagers, mainly families with small children.

Pros: Food and the staff are so freindly with all you need
Cons: Having to leave
Location: Just a 1 Minuit walk from the hotel to a shopping mall with a variation of shops and to the sea front where every thing is
From the first to the last day we was very well looked after al the staff are freindly and couldn't do enough for us would defiantly go back and recommend to all the food was exceptional so much choice we both loved our stay and will try to get back there very soon

Tancande

The staff make this hotel. Happy smiling and professional staff. Altho the maids enter room without knocking and waiting. No internal lock on door. Senior suite not as glam as expected. Food fab. Entertainment poor. Beach nice. Nearby Las Americas terrible. Not a lot outside of hotel. Designer shops without a sole in them. Weather poor for June. Games room for kids very bad. One machine only and one ping pong with broken bats. So in all pluses n minuses.

The overall experience staying here was very pleasant and relaxing which was just what we wanted. The hotel staff were so nice and helpful in dealing with any small request. The food was very nice and the general atmosphere anywhere was very enjoyable.

amazing stay

Posted 07-Feb-2013
My husband and I stayed in Dream Tacande for a week - loved it! Amazing location, right next to the best beach in Tenerife! The food was great - although we expected 4 restaurants to choose from but as it turned out our half board only included the one with the buffet. However, it was a 5-star buffet with chefs cooking the food you choose in front of you and everything was fresh and tasty. The standard room we got was ok but I wish we went for a sea view room. Also for some reason they don't provide tea/coffee facilities and iron in the room - or is it just us that expect those things in a 5-star hotel? The entertainment was a bit dated but all in all we had a fab stay and would love to come back.
