The Compostela Beach features 349 self catering units set within eight four-storey blocks. The one-bedroom apartments have balconies, most have sea views, and some are in duplex form with the bedroom upstairs. The separate sitting areas have sofabeds. Two ring hobs, refrigerators, toasters, coffeemakers and kettles are provided in the fitted kitchens as well as all crockery, cookware and dishes. Amenities include safes, direct-dial phones and televisions. Rooms are decorated with light walls, simple chequered fabrics, pale ceramic floor tiles, and wooden furniture.

“Nice hotel in great location”

This is the 2nd time we stayed at the Compostela and both times we have had a great holiday. The hotel has been fully refurbished and is now looking far better than before. The room was immaculate with nice decor and thoroughly cleaned 5 days out of 7. The pool area is nice with good sunbeds and parasols. Only downside is the lift does not go to the pool area and so we had to carry our 8 month old downstairs in his buggy. Would be a problem if there was only 1 person there or someone in a wheelchair. You could go out at reception and then round to a side gate to get to the pool though so it's not totally inaccessible. This is the only downside to a very decent hotel with friendly, helpful staff.

Area recommendations

The location of the Compostella is in the Playa De Las Vistas area of Las Americas and is far nicer than the old Las Americas side in my opinion. The hotels are all modern with most being 4 or 5 stars, the beach is golden and clean. The pubs have decent entertainment and with no nightclubs at this side it's not too rowdy. There is a lovely shopping mall with very nice restaurants above with a good view of the fountain show which is on every night. It's only a 10 minute walk to Los Christianos along the beachfront prominade with plenty of bars and cafe's along the way. If you're wanting away from the 18-30 type holidays but still want entertainment this is the perfect area for you.

“Very poor hotel in a nice location”

The location is excellent but the quality of the room is only ONE star. Room is very old with aging furniture. We booked a see-view room based on the photos but we discovered that the terrace is actually part of a corridor.

“Nice location right on the beach.”

I liked that it was located right on the beach. Very hard to find a parking space though. The room was nice, but not very clean. But for the price value I can't complain. Staff was friendly too.
