Nice and quite

Posted 17-Dec-2014
Pros: quite
Cons: install an ice machine
Nice and quite. Hard to find a hotel of this quality for the price point in this area. It would be nice to have an ice machine.

Good value

Posted 27-Oct-2014
Pros: clean and good price
Cons: keep a hotel attendant on duty for longer hours change the shower heads - spray pattern too wide/sparse, makes flow seem weak
Location: driving distance to many great hikes, fishing, site seeing, skiing, the historic town of Telluride
The rooms are clean and updated, which is a must. My wife and I did not like the shower head....it had a weak, wide spray pattern and no option to adjust. Also be aware the front desk personnel only work limited hours. When we booked our reservation, the information we received said you could check-in until 8pm. After finishing a long hike over by Red Mountain Pass, we began our drive over to the hotel with plans to arrive around 7pm. At 6:30pm we received a call (that went to voicemail due to the weak cell signal in the area) that said the front desk was closing at 7pm and to check with the restaurant staff to get our room keys when we arrived. We like extra towels so we can clean up after the long day of hiking as well as shower in the morning and the room only had 2 towels. We had to ask our waitress to find us some towels, which she gladly did. That leads me to the restaurant experience. This was definitely a bright spot. Our server was friendly and attentive. Every seat was full....including the bar. I ordered one of their specialty burgers with a draft beer and my wife ordered a salad with a glass of wine. My wife really enjoyed her salad and I was blown away by the burger. Seriously, it was one of the best burgers I've ever had...definitely Top 5. But don't get too fired up about the continental breakfast that is included with your stay. The restaurant isn't open for breakfast so they put food out on the bar. Everything is open for people to dig through and the choices

Nice Inn near Telluride

Posted 13-Oct-2014
Pros: Something different than the usual hotel. Only 14 rooms so it was quiet and peaceful.
Cons: We stayed in Oct., be aware in off season they close the restaurant.
Location: Beautiful area, view of mountains. Must head into Telluride.
Nice small Inn nestled in the mountains. Caters to guests with dogs/pets. We did not have any and noticed not all dog owners picked up after their dog. Nice common area with bonfire, darts and bag toss games as well as hammock. Very close to Telluride which is beautiful town with shops and a free gondola ride that is a must. Town caters to skiing but really enjoyed it in October.

Thank you so much for the four stars and the feedback! Guests are required to pick up after their pets, but sometimes some fail to do so, and we try to stay on top of it! We do hope you'll stay with us again soon! Cheers!

Very nice and quaint

Posted 05-Oct-2014
Location: Laid back but close to Telluride.
Check in was very pleasant, food in resturant was delicious as well as the breakfast. The inn has a lot of extras to keep you busy, darts, corn hole (that's what midwesterners call it) pool table, fire pit.

Amazing and quaint!

The staff was nice, the rooms were warm and cozy, the patios had great views and felt private, the "back yard" was nice with plush grass and a hammock. The restaurant was delicious and fresh! It is very close to Ridgway and Telluride and if I'm in the area again I will for sure stay at The Angler Inn!

convenient location

Posted 27-Sep-2014
Pros: close to Telluride (10 miles) without the hustle and parking problems in Telluride. Has refrigerator in room
Cons: upstairs rooms on ends of building have pitched ceilings that can be annoying. Bed is comfortable but sparsely decorated.
Location: Fishing on San Miguil River close buy. Nice restaurant/bar on property but it tends to be a locals hang-out and can be very noisy
affordable property (compared to Telluride) that has a nice location with easy parking and access to rooms and on site restaurant, bar plus nice patio dinning

Nice quiet find out near busy Telluride!

Posted 24-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We had a very enjoyable stay. Nice balcony to sit outdoors off of our room! Very nice room set up...comfortable chair and ottoman, no business desk. The bed squeaked with every movement, our room had a different smell to it...not bad just different. Nice and simple breakfast. We loved that it is a small property, we have gotten used to staying in vacation rentals to avoid the noisy rude people in large hotels! Would stay here again!

Great Mountain Getaway

Posted 22-Sep-2014 on Hotels.com
We chose the Angler Inn because it was more reasonably priced than many of the hotels in Telluride, and at 16 miles away that's not a bad drive. Once we arrived at the Inn, we were so happy that we chose it. It is a romantic and quaint hotel that has all of the quaintness of a nice bed and breakfast. The rooms are very clean and quite. Our room had a beautiful wooden 4 poster bed, and a nice little sitting area tucked in by a dormer window. The bed was a little hard for my taste, but my wife liked it. They have a bar/dining area down at the front of the Inn with both outdoor and indoor dining, and it also had a great ambiance. The food was excellent. My wife had the caprese salad, which was made up of several different types of tomatoes mixed with the fresh basil and mozzarella cheese. It was amazing. I had their chicken pot pie, which was definitely homemade and it too was a treat for the palate. The staff at both the hotel and restaurant were all very pleasant and eager to help. Out back of the Inn, they have some Adirondack chairs around a fire pit, which makes for a fun evening as you visit with other guests, or just enjoy the clear night sky and the campfire. We will definitely stay there again, and recommend it highly. One side note, since they are in a wilderness area, they are not allowed to put up any permanent signs to their location, and after dark it is harder to see, so watch for all the tiny lights that adorn the front of the restaurant area.

Excellent hotel just outside of Telluride

Posted 08-Sep-2014
This hotel was a great find. It's such a great place to relax after a day of hiking and shopping downtown. We looked forward to coming back to the hotel, enjoying margaritas on our patio, and playing lawn games in the garden. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is excellent, and the restaurant is fantastic if you don't feel like going back into town for the evening. I would highly recommend this hotel!
