Lovely hotel right in the center of town.

Posted 27-Aug-2014
Pros: The location, friendliness of the staff and the wonderful restaurant.
Cons: There is no parking on site.
Location: Walk to almost anywhere in town. The Gondola is very close. Airport is 10 minutes away. Go soaring with Glider Bob. Great golf course nearby.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great restaurant and bar there. Bison Ribeye the best. Unfortunately they don't have parking on site. The town is very dog friendly.

Thank you so much for your kind review of our historic New Sheridan hotel in Telluride. We are so pleased you found our staff friendly and helpful and that you enjoyed your food at the Chop House. Although we do not have a traditional parking lot on-site, we do offer check-in and unloading in the front of the hotel as well as parking permits to park on the street around the hotel. If you need assistance with finding parking, we are always happy to assist.

The three rooms

Posted 07-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
Everything was great about the hotel. The only problem we had is that the three rooms that face the front street on the second floor, and they are great during the day for sight seeing, are very noisy at night. The partying goes on till 2:30 to 3:00 am. There is nothing the hotel or police can or will do to quite it down. Hey, it's revenue! So put in your ear plugs and turn on the white noise machine that's by the bed. Or just go down to the bar and party with them!

Thank you for your review and taking the time to comment to us. We do have a very popular bar and restaurant which can get loud. To remedy this, we do offer earplugs and noise machines, as you mentioned. We also have cozy interior rooms away from the street which are quieter and away from the street. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay despite the noise at night.

Beautiful historic hotel in the heart of town.

Posted 06-Aug-2014
Great location. Historic hotel has been updated, rooms are very nice and quite spacious and comfortable. Restaurant in the hotel is pricey, but good. All of the staff were great and helped create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. One or two of the rooms are next to and above the neighboring tavern and the music runs loud and late. It didn't trouble us but could bother some. Just ask to avoid those rooms when you book.

New Sheridan Old West Feeling

Posted 02-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
The New Sheridan West was a delightfully refurbished old west hotel. Located right in the heart of Telluride, it is a great place to take in the town. The rooms and bath have been nicely updated and the staff is friendly.. Athough this isn't usually a problem, be aware that rooms aren't air conditioned. They have ceiling fans and it cools down at night in the mountains, but with the windows open it can be noisy since the hotel faces the main street..

Thank you so much for your detailed review of our historic Telluride hotel. Our renovations were completed by renowned designer Nina Campbell who did a fabulous job. With the climate in Telluride we do not typically need air conditioning, but if you do need to open a window and are bothered by the noise, you can always stay in one of our cozy interior rooms away from the street.

A great place to stay in Telluride

Posted 31-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed for three nights in a second-story outside room. The room was really nicely decorated, spacious for an old building, and quite charming. The location is perfect and in the middle of everything. We were right over the restaurant and could hear noises below on Saturday night but they make that clear in the description of the rooms. It was not bad and did not affect our ability to sleep. I would definitely stay at the hotel again but would not eat at their restaurant (disappointing and expensive).

Room Without a View!

Posted 28-Jul-2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is ideally placed in the centre of Telluride; everything one could want within the town is within easy walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, even to the point of informing us of the best place to stand for the Nothing Run!! The drawback from our perspective was the view from the room! Whilst we don't choose our hotel necessarily for its outlook, the view from our window was of a stainless steel chimney from the kitchen two floors below! There was also a constant hum from fans - presumably removing the cooking odours. Disappointing but not disastrous!

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the view from your room. I will certainly look into the hum from the fans and see if we can remedy it. I am pleased to hear of your pleasant experience with our staff and that you enjoyed our central location in town.

Great Old Towne Feel

Posted 28-Jun-2014 on Hotels.com
The New Sheridan Hotel in Telluride sit right in the center of town and is perfect to experience the town. However, in summer be warned that the hotel has no air conditioning but does have an excellent portable swamp cooler in the closet. The swamp cooler works great but you have to remember to get some ice (ice machine on lower floor) and set it up. The bartender is one of the best for drinks and advise on restaurants. Restaurant Manager is a little rude to hotel guests going to the elevator (Elevator is just inside the corridor between the reservation stand and the restaurant). Front desk staff is excellent. Only issue, don't plan on getting any sleep until after 2 pm because the nightlife (even on weekdays) has yelling in the street and dj's on mics until 2 pm.
