We were using the hotel for one night to break up a holiday journey and it proved to be a great place to relax and set us up for our onward journey. We made full use of the pool and it gave us a great start to our holiday.
Booked this hotel at the last minute great choice staff could't have been more helpful even when the radiator was not working very well in our room they immediately supplied an electric heater will certainly use this hotel again.
we were very pleased, the food, staff politeness, their ability and attention to our needs with excellent customer focus not usually found or expected in a standard hotel. And the breakfasts quality and choice were of very high standard,
"Excellent food with a warm and lasting welcome and"
A wonderful welcome from the owners of the Bird in Hand. The pub itself is quirky in it's upper layout and a real treat to try to work out, this may account to the buildings age as it has been standing since well before the Ironbridge itself. The rooms are comfortably furnished with a 70's early 80's feel, with all you need for a short stay. Meticulously clean throughout with a shower en-suite, tea and coffee, radio TV and beds that are SO comfortable, had it not been for the bedroom window view of the River Severn in the mornings and the promise of a lovely and filling home cooked breakfast served with a hearty felt Good Morning from Steve, it would have been hard to leave the beds amazing comfort. The food at the Bird in Hand is impeccable, the hardest part was deciding what to have from an extensive menu and the daily specials. The portions are generous but just right for a holiday indulgent. Allow for a rest between starter, main and then dessert if you can fit it. If you cannot please rest a while loner with a cask ale or cider until you can fit a pud in, you wont regret it. The family running are accommodating, friendly and go out of their way to assist. This B&B was a rare find in this current days trend for clinical and impersonate hotel B&B trends. It's a establishment that we will be returning to as they have perfected the art of a traditional B&B service.
The room was amazing - really warm and well furnished - very homely. My breakfasts both days were delicious. Perfect if you wanted a walk in the beautiful countryside but a little isolated if relying on public transport or taxis.
