“Great place to stay in Tel-Aviv”

Found the staff very friendly and helpful. Room was all you'd expect it to be and its only a 2 or 3 minute walk to the beach. Good value for money.

“Better than expected”

We came for a short break late December to attend a relative's wedding in the city. We stayed in a business suite with our teenage child. The breakfast was very good, plenty of variety. The free snacks in the business lounge and internet use were very useful after roaming around the city. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We were extremely pleased that after arriving early in the morning from the night flight our room was made ready for us by 9am so we were able to rest before going out on the town.

“Was worth the money for the location.”

The service at the hotel was great. My only complaint is the size of the shower in the bathroom. It is way too small.

“Excellent hotel near the beach.”

This is a very busy Hotel a block away from the North beach in Tel Aviv. The clientele is mostly foreign visitors. The front desk staff is multilingual and very corteous. I enjoyed my interaction with them. The breakfast buffet can get pretty busy at times with many people leaving on bus tours piling up in the rather small buffet area trying to get their food. The seating area has many tables and even a covered patio that is a lovely setting for a breakfast. The hotel parking is located on the basement. The front of the hotel is always busy with tour buses, but the rooms are clean and quiet. The beds are comfortable and clean and housekeeping is excellent. Overall it was a nice experience.

“would return...”

looking on the internet hotels and hostels appeared expensive.... but Tel Aviv is generally very expensive, the hotel has good facilities, pool / gym etc, reception is stylish and efficient, staff are friendly and attentive, even the cleaners etc. breakfast was 5 star.... hotel location is one block back from the beach and half way along the main beach. shops and all facilities are at hand, easy walking to most places, even Jaffa. i thought at first the price was high, but on consideration to Tel Aviv prices and hotel facilities, it was great, and free wifi through out the hotel. I work in travel so i have high expectations, here i was satisfied! value for money, great location!

“Convenient, comfortable”

This is a very comfortable hotel in a very convenient location--within walking distance to the places we wanted to go to and close to the beach. The buffet breakfast was excellent--great variety of everything you could possibly want for breakfast. One suggestion--the maid should leave a little extra toilet paper. It was barely enough for us. Also, we prefer a regular double bed, not 2 singles pushed together. Maybe some rooms offer this. I don't know.

“Nice Hotel but had problems with Wi-Fi and wake-up calls”

Overall, I like the Metropolitan Hotel. It was clean, modern, and had a great location a couple blocks from the beach. The hotel seems to cater to tourist, particularly large bus tours. The complementary breakfast buffet was large and I believe kosher. I was impressed with how quickly the hotel set a person to fix a rather complicated problem I had with my TV. Probably a minute or less. The biggest problem I had with the hotel is their Wi-Fi. It is available only in the lobby. I use Wi-Fi all around the world but couldn't get it to work at this hotel (a problem shared by at least 2 other people in the lobby!) I felt the hotel was pretty indifferent about this problem. My other complaint is that the hotel was zero for two on wake-up calls. This is a really big deal when you have a hotel pick-up for a bus tour at 7:15 am. Definitely pack an alarm! Despite these 2 negatives, I would definitely recommend this hotel for a leisure traveler who does not need have Internet during his stay and who packs his own alarm clock.
