This is not a 4 star hotel. There was No air conditioning. The only reason I booked this hotel was for the air conditioning as it was very muggy. We were not adivsed that there was a problem with the air conditioning. Our room never got below 30 degrees with the fan supplied and we couldn't sleep. Sevice was rubbish and TV's had very low resolution and picture was very blurry.

I had to wait till 02:30 PM to get my room access though I had confirmed my stay and when I'll arrive information well in advance. Room didn't had basic facilities like Mini bar and Slippers. Pool was not clean enough. Room Fan and 1 lamp was not in working condition. Staff was good and supportive.

Good value for money as this hotel had varied facilities available on site. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and tidy room. First room I was allocated smelled of stale cigarettes and toilet wasn't working 😱 I was upgraded without any hassle. Cigarette smell also hanging around in gym and front reception area in evening from smokers in outdoor bar area.

Location was perfect, close to shopping and convenient for exploring New Plymouth. Very clean room, tea and coffee facilities, comfy bed, lovely big shower. Everything was spotless. Reception staff were very accommodating and helpful. The only issue was the noise, our room was opposite the pool - there were kids banging on the window (not intentional) at 10.30pm, staff putting on the pool cover at midnight, visitor next door shouting at 4.30am as they were leaving and the pool cover being taken off at 6.30am.

Love staying here. But there are some non-furnished rooms which look quite tired. We were in one of those. Comfy but tired. The hotel was fully booked and our room was serviced quite late. We did notice (next morning) that they’d not replenished all the tea and coffee so we were short. We had dinner in the restaurant one night which was excellent. Quite late due to groups coming in, but not a problem for us on this occasion. Next night we just wanted something light, basically the room service menu only goes until 6pm and then from 10pm. In between times any room service food comes from the restaurant menu.

Nice hotel in great position with parking and good restaurant. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Some areas a little tired and needed some TLC eg vent in main bathroom choked with dust. Bar staff and restaurant staff too few and a little overworked. Was upgraded to nicer room and stay overall was good.
