“Quaint”
Very nice hotel, excellent restaurant. Hotel is circa 1960's, wi-Fi and Modern acoutremonts, tile floors in rooms. There is not a warm, comfortable feeling, but everything is clean and fresh. The rooms could use a spa like atmosphere and give a general feeling of comfort. The neighborhood is older and there are things to do within walking distance. I would stay again for sure if the rates were more like under 100 a night.
“Good cafe, beds uncomfortable”
Tahitian Inn has a very good cafe located on premises. It was initialy build as a renovated motor inn. Our room opened onto the parking lot. It was noisy and the beds were uncomfortable. The breakfast was very good.
“my stay”
I had one of suites. It was clear and spacious. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. One complient - the airplane shuttle doesn't pickup till 9 am. so I had to take a cab ($15). I called the day before and the lady at the desk don't pay attention to my arrive time and told me to call for the shuttle. This was my only compliant. I was attending a conference (the hotel offered the use of the shuttle to the convention center) so I didn't have time to enjoy any of the amenities
“Nice size room, eating area outdoors was really scenic, swimming area very impressive; only complain”
Nice size room, eating area outdoors was really scenic, swimming pool area was very impressive, my only complaint was the room smelled old. We were on the bottom floor.
“Would go back”
Our suite was very spacious. Convenient to restaurants and downtown. Staff went out of their way to accommodate requests. Spa was a nice addition.
“Great Place to Stay”
Great Food, great location, AAA+++
“Scary”
The good days of this hotel are far behind. We had a room on the ground floor--it's more like a motel than an "inn." The air conditioner was so loud it was hard to sleep. The floors were grimy, the bathroom old and ugly. This was billed as a "3-star" hotel. It's a generous 1. I didn't take my socks off, not wanting to walk around bare foot. The people at the front desk were quite nice, but the furniture and everything else about the hotel room was "off" and frankly, kind of creepy. It looked run-down and seedy. Not recommended.
“Will Return”
We enjoyed our stay. It was close to a few fast food places but also has it's own restaurant. Their shuttle took us right to the cruise ship.
“Don't plan on sleeping much”
The tiki bar/pool area never closes so if you stay here and want to sleep request a room far away. We had a conference early in the morning and just as we were falling asleep a party started down in the pool area which was just below our room, unfortunately. It sounded like the party was INSIDE our room the people were so loud (drinking, cussing and screaming, and carrying on like they were the only people in the hotel). We tried at least 4 times to call the front desk and there was no answer. They partied until probably at least 2:00am, and then loitered in the hall while they tried to find their keys. It was infuriating and the following morning after complaining to the front deks we were told, "night security is supposed to take care of those things." Night security??? They must have had the night off. We were not compensated. It is a shame too because if it were not for that I would have definitely gone back.
“like the look, beds indescribable”
Location is convenient for many Tampa activities. Old Florida feel is also nice. The rooms are spacious. The 3 rating comes from the beds. Not sure if tnere is some desire for beds like boulders, but these were. After driving 9+ hours to Tampa, definitely not what we were hoping to sleep on. We had to assume that maybe its a spa-related thing.
