“Worth the cost”

Looking for one night, relaxing evening with my wife in good location. This hotel fit the bill. We arrived late after enjoying an evening at Channelside. Everyone was very courteous, the room comfortable and the view of the channel/harbor was fabulous. I'd do it again in a heartbeat (if I could find a sitter for the kids!).

“excellent hotel”

A very nice hotel in a great location. Service was excellent. Rooms are quite comfortable with great views. Will definitely stay there again!!!

“Fun Human”

I agree with all positive posts. This is a very nice hotel. The roof top pool is clean and has a bar. The lobby is huge and has a couple of bars and restaurants.. The room I stayed in was very clean with an amazing view.THE ONLY drawback is the MANDATORY VALET. That sets you back $20. per night. I'm not being cheap but it is not included in the online price so it's an extra $20. a night. To add to that you can get your car at anytime and come and go as you please but your gonna tip the valet (I assume) every time you get it. So figure cost per day $30-$50. at least for valet. I make note of this because unless you really need a rental car. Your better off cabbing it or shuttle from the airport, $50. total cost. Aside from the valet issue THIS IS A NICE HOTEL. Hope that helps.

Nightlife

Jackson's Bistro. Great bar/nightclub 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Did not try the food but the crowd and bartenders were great.

“hidden charges”

This hotel has hidden charges for parking, plus no free WiFi in the room. The only free WiFi is available downstairs in the lobby. If you want to use WiFi in your room you have to pay which is not very convenient for everybody. No free breakfast either. Everything else is cool especially the pool.

“Marriott Tampa is a Nice Stay”

Hotel was clean. Service was great. There were rowing events next to the hotel the weekend of my stay which added to the coolness factor. From our bay facing window we saw a Carnival cruise ship depart which was pretty cool too. The only downside was the required valet. You have to time your departure from the hotel to have your car pulled around when you need it. I'm a leave-in-a-second type person, so this wasn't the best. There are about four metered spots on the street, but that's it. This is a good 3.5 star hotel.

Area recommendations

Visit Ybor City. Entertainment, food, good times. Oh, and grab a cigar at King's Corona on 7th Ave. Good people.

“Michelle”

Great hotel in downtown Tampa. Centrally located... 15 minute drive to Busch Gardens and Yuengling Brewery, 10 minute drive to Hyde Park and mall. Was right next to the convention center.

“Great Tampa Hotel”

The hotel was very close to the convention center. Downtown Tampa is very nice and enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised and never worried about my safety. The riverwalk area that runs behind the hotel is very nice and you are also walking distance to a Publix grocery store and the Aquarium.
