“Will be going back”

Just had very nice break in Tallin, despite the weather. My hotel -Savoy Boutique was very central, friendly and comfortable. Also their restaurant is excellent. Will be returning in the summer

“Excellent location”

The Savoy Boutique Hotel is well-placed for both the Old Town and the more modern shoping centres. The staff are friendly and the room and views from it excellent. The only downside was the slight noise in the early hours from party and club goers leaving the nearby discos and fast-food cafes. The other niggle was the lack of bread at breakfast which never did appear, despite requests from ourselves and other guests.

Area recommendations
We loved the Open Air Museum (easily reached on the open-top bus tour) with 100+ old Estonian buildings, local crafts and traditional dancing.
When to go
We went in February (-15C) and August (+20C). The snow was great but in the summer the open-air cafes make the vsiti more pleasurable.

“Very pleased”

Overall we were pleased with this hotel. Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room comfortable although it would have been nice to have a mirror in bedroom, not just in bathroom and it is a shame there is no tea/coffee making facility. It is also about time the carpet had a clean, but these were minor things and in no way spoilt our stay. We had a bar meal on arrival which was excellent and breakfast was more than sufficient. Plenty of eating/drinking places within striking distance. Would stay there again if returning to Tallinn.

Area recommendations
The old town is definitely the place to be. Lovely to stroll around with lots of eating and drinking places to suit every taste and pocket. Plenty of churches and museums and some lovely arts and crafts shops.

“Satisfactory. Fell a little short of my expectation.”

The hotel is in historic downtown Tallinn and within a walking distance to all the nice restaurants and night clubs. One of my most important amenities in a hotel is a gym, and this hotel lacks one. I also noticed that the air condition was not working, but my room was at a comfortable temperature the entire time i stayed there. I was told by one of the front desk clerks that the hotel is currently undergoing upgrade. The customer service was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel to someone who would not take issue with the fact that the hotel does not have a fitness facility.

Area recommendations
The city is very small and easy to get around. I stayed in the old town area and its a must- see for anyone visiting Estonia.

“Very enjoyable stay !!”

Very conveniently located only about five minutes on foot to Old Town Square at the same time five minutes on foot to modern shopping mall as well. Also welcoming and very kind receptionist brought very good first impression of the town itself. The Room was quite spacious for two people with great view of the old town with sunsetting as well ! (room on the 6th floor), and room itself was elegantly decorated. It just brought very relaxing moods right after I opened door. The price was also quite reasonable and will definately recommend !!!

“Great Hotel”

A very comfortable hotel in a great location not far from the main square. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Our room was fantastic and the standard of the bathroom superb. The bar was very nice for the last drink before bed! Although the quality of the food was excellent at breakfast, the choice was a bit limited gor a five star-rated hotel and it was the same everyday. So that was a bit disappointing. Apart from that the rest was brilliant & we would certainly stop there again.

Area recommendations
Tallinn is a lovely city to visit. Very clean and no trouble at night. One tip - if you want to visit the tunnels you have to book in advance.
Dining
Would recommend eating at Clayhills and the Old Hansa. Troika on the main square is good for lunch.

“This is not a typical 5 stars”

The hotel is nice, staff super friendly, location is fantastic. However, we expected more facilities in the room and in the hotel. No electrical sockets free in the room and one has to give up the side lamp in order to connect the mobile phone for charging... Recommended, in spite of the above. S. T.

Area recommendations
The old city, where the hotel is located.
When to go
From the end of May seems ideal.

“Savoy Boutique”

Had a very good experience at Savoy Boutique. Friendly and helpful staff, who were always happy to assist. The room was very comfortable and clean, with a good bath to relax in after walking all day on the cobbles. The location is a 2 minute walk from the town hall square, which was excellent. Only have two issues regarding my stay. The safe in my room malfunctioned twice, necessitating an engineer visit. Also, I did see a few ants scuttling around the breakfast table. But I reckon these are isolated. A wonderful hotel, a good value gem right beside the Old Town.

Area recommendations
The Old Town is wonderful. Full of beautiful buildings, cafes and artisan studios.
When to go
We went in April. Quite cold, but beautiful spring sunshine with the last of the frozen snow melting. Seeing the Gulf of Finland frozen over was wonderful.
Shopping
Katariina Gild is full of amazing artists studios selling ceramics, leather goods, fabrics, textiles, stained glass and woodwork. Came home with two very reasonably priced ceramic pieces made in the studio I bought them in.

“Excellent hotel.”

We had a wonderful 3 nights at the Savoy Boutique Hotel. All the staff are exceptional nothing was too much bother. I had contacted the hotel before our stay and requested a quiet room. Our bedroom overlooked the rooftops at the back of the hotel (a lovely view) so we had no disturbed sleep. I dropped my phone in the dining room at breakfast and it was returned to me when we got back in later in the day. We hope to return later in the year.

“So many difficulties to dine in the hotel restaurant”

This is the second time I have stayed at the Savoy hotel and although the hotel and most of the staff and service was as expected and of a good quality there is one thing that has left a bad taste in my mouth I will not be going back. We had been given advice from local Estonian friends to visit the hotel's restaurant, Mekk. We attempted to dine in the restaurant on the first night Saturday and were advised that it was full so we asked to make a reservation on the following night which seemed fine. That evening we returned around 9pm and the restaurant actually appeared to be empty bar one table of diners. The following evening we went down to have dinner and the restaurant was full with what seemed like a private function. We were advised that someone was meant to tell us that the only free dining time was 2hrs earlier that evening although we were not advised. It was than offered that we dine in the bar as the restaurant was the same kitchen. Given our last night in Tallinn we were looking for a more memorable dining experience than sitting in a bar. I have never had such difficulty dining in a hotel restaurant. It was a shame due to the local recommendation but we will never know...

Area recommendations
I would certainly recommend staying near the old town in Tallinn. The old town is meant for walking and there are many sights / restaurants in close proximity.
Dining
In Tallinn, Estonia we would recommend a restaurant called Aed. It is open late, has amazing food and a really laid back and friendly atmosphere. It is not too far from the town hall.
