“Tallin, worth a visit”
The hotel was good value for the money paid. It is ideally situated at the edge of the Old Town. 10 min walk to the port if you want to take a trip to Helsinki by fast ferry.
“Rooms so small you could hardly turn around.”
Certainly not the highest quality. Rooms are so small we had to use the window sill to set our bags because not enough floor space to do so. Toilet seat broken. Bathroom so small you could barely turn around. Shower curtain discolored and moldy. Breakfast buffet okay but with few extra amenities. For example, no coffee cream, only milk. Not a big deal, but one of those small items which add together with others to give an overall impression, especially to travelers who experience many different hotel environments.
“return soon”
An extremely well placed hotel, built into the city wall. Convenient for all of the old town and tram stop for the rest of the city. Quiet area and hotel interior. Good value for money.
“Tallinn in the snow and ice”
We arrived at the hotel which is built partly in to the old city wall, our room was very very small, however, it had a well fitted if tiny bathroom and comfortable bed. The room was spotless and was kept so by the hotel staff, with cleans towels everyday. I asked on the evening of our arrival for a plug, for the wash hand basin, however, this never arrived at all! - so take your own if you wish to have water in the basin. The buffet breakfast was of good quality. The area outside the main enterance to the hotel, had not been cleared of fallen snow and was as a consequence like a sheet of ice and very slippery. on this trip we flew Finnair from Manchester to Helsinki and changed to Fincomm for the oward leg to Tallinn both of which were faultless, at Tallinn we were met by a driver clearly displaying a board with our names on - all very efficient Overall our visit was enjoyable and in fact I will be returning with friends in December 2011 to this hotel. For t
“Great Hotel and fantastic location”
The hotel was perfect for a long break to Tallinn, the loaction is great, close to all attractions and restaurants. The hotels staff are all friendly and the rooms were nicely decorated and very comfy. Breakfast is good and has a great variety to choose from. I would stay again!
“Cant wait to stay there again”
i cannot praise this hotel enough, its location was perfect walking distance to many interesting places, great breakfast hot and cold food buffet, very pleasant stafff, free internet use, and a great price, i cant wait to stay there again in the summer lastly the view i had was terrific, of snow covered roof tops, also good sized room with double bed, tv, everything you need and finally it had a tgreat shower i would recommend this hotel, i've stayed at many hotels acrsos europe and this has to be one of the best.
“Delightful Hotel”
The Meriton Old Town Hotel was a delight. I had read reviews that mentioned the (small) size of the rooms. I feared we would be in a cupboard. Wrong. OK - by no means spacious, but perfectly adequate and as well as being very comfortable it was spotlessly clean. The reception staff were very helpful. The buffet breakfast exceeded expectations - as it was included I assumed it would be minimal. Not so. Overall, this is a hotel in a nice quiet end of the old town but only minutes away from the bustle which is excellent, and is magnificent value for money.
“Very polite and professional staff”
A lovely hotel in the old town. Everything was great. The only mildly bothersome thing was that the "double" bed was actually two single beds pushed together, with sheets folded in half lengthwise like pita bread so you had to make yourself quite skinny while you slept! The breakfast was great, the staff were sweet and helpful. I would definitely go back.
“Wonderful hotel!”
Tallinn's Old Town is a gem of a place to begin with, and the Meriton Old Town only enhances the experience. This was my second stay here and will certainly plan on staying here again if the opportunity presents itself. The rooms are small (by American standards), but clean, orderly and have all you need. The breakfast (included in the cost of the room) is amazing-- don't skip it. :-) The staff are also extremely courteous and helpful. Also, if you come to Tallinn by ferry, it is a very inexpensive trip by taxi.
“Good Value for Money”
This hotel is in a great place in the Old Town, less than a 5 minute wander from the Town Hall Square and the other attractions but far enough away to provide peace and tranquility. The hotel is quirky with strange shaped rooms and the reception/cafe incorporates the old wall. It is not a luxury hotel by any means. Cheap and cheerful springs to mind. The twin beds we had were tiny and the bed clothes were not high quality. The shower however was fine and there was plenty of hot water. For a long weekend when you don't want to spend much money and don't plan to spend time in the room then this hotel is for you. The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly when we had trouble with a bus tour.
