“Unexpectedly great!”

Comfortable, clean and friendly. Excellent for the price. They should tell people on their web page that the hotel is built into the medieval town wall.

“Great location for the Old Town”

All staff, including the receptionists on the front desk and the waiter Pavel were excellent, very polite, helpful and very competent. The location of the hotel is perfect, an easy walk to the Old town Square, well lit streets, as 3 females together, we felt very safe. Also it was just opposite a very good cake shop! Our only comment would be that minor maintenance issues need to be addressed.

Area recommendations
Area around this hotel was well lit and convenient for the Old Town. Ideal location for the historic part of the city. We walked everywhere easily. Hotel close by the city wall, the cathedral, Old Town Square, St Catherine's Passage, and general shopping.
What to pack
Don't forget your waterproof and several layers if visiting in October. Also, you will need comfortable shoes to walk on the cobblestones.
Dining
As 3 lone females we often ate at the hotel and there was plenty of choice.

“Excellent situation”

Hotel ideally situated just inside the Old Town and a few minutes walk to anywhere we wanted. Breakfasts superb, really set up for the day afterwards. Staff very pleasant and helpful.

Area recommendations
Old Town - well preserved and full of character. Worth going up on to the walls - the access at Nunne Street is the best for all round views.
When to go
September is a good time, not too crowded but the weather still pleasant. Mid week days were more peaceful than the weekends.
Getting there
Taxi to and from the airport was inexpensive and quick.
Getting around
City bus tour tickets give a good overview with headphones and English commentary. Other city public transport - trams and trolleybuses - free to seniors. Arm yourself with a map of Tallinn and a bus map and it's very easy.
Dining
Olde Hansa an experience not to be missed, even if you only have a drink or snack. Service in Town Square restaurants bad at the weekend - try somewhere just off the square.

“Great location, lovely charming hotel”

The hotel is really well situated in the old town and with a lovely charm fitting for the location. The staff were welcoming and helpful with excellent English (our estonian is non existant). The rooms, whilst not roomy, were very well laid out, warm and comfortable (lighting was quite ambient so if you dropped something on the floor it was look for it with your hands not eyes). The breakfasts were really good, with a buffet style and plenty of it. It is situated within the old town and in easy walking distance of everything. We were there for New Year and so the snow, atmosphere and location could not be better. Would highly recommend

Area recommendations
The Old Town. If you are over there for the New Year celebrations, it is mainly geared towards the Russians so any dinner dance events were 100 euros plus and in Russian. We opted for a lovely cellar restaurant called the Turg. Had our table from 8pm until 3am, selected from the Al a carte menu with a waitress that fully deserved her tip at the end of the night. Went out to see the fireworks in the square (low key affair but magical in the snow) and returned to our table in the Turg. If you are looking for a nice day time cafe, try Josephines near St Catherine's Passage. They make hot chocolate from real chocolate and hot milk and if wanted a nice tot of rum, all served in a fab atmosphere of 20's / 30's era. What a magical place.

“Convenient to Tallinn Old Town”

We stayed 3 nights in August in this excellent hotel. When the taxi dropped us off and I saw 4 stars, I thought it was a mistake, because our Expedia rate was so great (affordable). The lobby area was very nice, the breakfast very large and diverse. There is a small restaurant attached - we played Scrabble at the tables there. The triple room was fine - plenty of closet space, a good bathroom with shower and comfortable beds. The building is old but interior is remodeled - one small complaint - thick walls prevented wifi access - but when I stepped into the hallway, I connected! Maybe I was meant to relax... Go to Tallinn and stay at Baltic Imperial!

“Convenient, clean, good price”

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location right next to the train station and just minutes walk from the main square downtown. Room was clean and comfortable - not the Ritz but definitely a good value for the price. The breakfast was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

“Great location, good breakfast, good restaurant and nice people”

My wife and I thorougly enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel. We used the streetcar a lot. It was about a 3 minute walk away. The only minor irritant for me was the inability of the front desk to tell me how to take public transit to the dock. Many tourists come to Tallin by ship, as did we, and I thought help should have been more than we could call a taxi.

Traveller's tip
Buy a Tallin card. It's great value and gets you to, from and into all the attractions by public transportation which is great in this city.
