“Very close to FSU, great breakfast!”
We were taking our daughter to start college at FSU, and this hotel was less than a mile from FSU. It was very clean, and the staff was courteous and professional. The breakfast was great, the only negative was lack of parking, the hotel was full and we had to park accross the street...not a big deal. We will be back! We got in too late to try the evening happy hour, so we are looking forward to our next trip.
“Nice place in the right place”
This hotel was just a couple blocks from the FSU campus. The room was immaculate, appeared to be recently renovated, looked just like the website pictures. Everything worked. Breakfast was typical Residence Inn / waffles, muffins, cereal, and a couple of fresh hot dishes (sausage, pancakes, scrambled eggs, etc.). Plenty of hot water for the shower. Staff was courteous, and cleaning staff was prompt.. Laundry facilities were well kept also. I would stay there again any time.
“Good Service, Great Location”
Great location next to FSU's campus and civic center. We arrived just after 3 pm on a Saturday and our room or any room wasn't cleaned yet, but the front desk clerk apologized and let our family help ourselves to free snacks from the mini store to help us pass the time while we waited for the room to be available. Overall pretty good way to make a customer happy given the circumstances. Hotel was clean and pool was nice. Would stay here again.
“Just ok...”
The check in went well and the hotel lobby was not bad....once we got to the room, we were a bit disapointed.... The couch was really uncomfortable! We had a family member that stayed on the pull out sofa and they had no linens at all (we had to call for them but we stated that there was 3 adults checking in). The bed was really uncomfortable and the bed sheets and blanket were SOOO thin...the room was located on the upper floor by the street and was very noisy...the air conditioning was pretty loud as well.. I would say the room was just ok..I would not stay there again when visiting Florida in the future.
“Very Family Oriented”
We loved our stay at this property, the only negative draw back is I think that they should put all guest with pets in a certain area of the hotel as we were constantly disturbed by loud dog barking and unwanted smells every time we entered and exited our room. The breakfast was excellent as well as the finger food snack Happy Hour. The Staff was courteous and respectful. We have a daughter who is in her junior year and will be attending school another 3 years there in Tallahassee and this will definitely be our place to stay when we visit her.
“Just ok”
The seating and more importantly the bedding in the hotel was the absolute worst we experienced. Three of us stayed in two different rooms and the beds were like sleeping on concrete. Wouldn't stay there again just for that reason.
“Waited 30 minutes to get my room key.”
Arrived at 3 PM. Was told all rooms are normally clean by then, but they did not have the list of available rooms yet. Kept me (and other arriving guests) waiting for over 30 minutes while they figured that out! I've never seen that kind of failure before. They couldn't walk 20 yards to check one room, or give me one key to try or any other solution??? I was extremely annoyed, let them no, and received no compensation for my misery. Truly unacceptable. Rest of stay was OK. Room was very nice, with all kitchen conveniences. Included breakfast was complete, and good quality and value. Slight complaint that there was no way to keep the A/C fan running, which we desired because it was very noisy near the elevator, and we wanted constant background noise rather than cycling on/off.
“Would not choose to stay here again....”
When I walked into the room, I thought it was pretty average. Nothing stood out-bad or good. I stayed for 4 nights and as the days went on, I became more annoyed and ultimately sorry I opted to stay at this hotel. We were checked into room 222 that faces a very noisy street. The next day when I requested to change rooms, the front desk clerk advised she noted my request and would call me as soon as a room was available. I never received a call and had to basically beg to get a room change. My overall impression of the front desk staff was that they were uninterested. They were in no way rude, but their lack of follow up and consideration was very poor. The rooms look like they have been well used, with faded living room furniture and poor linens that consisted of the thinest down comforter I'd ever seen. There was hair in the bathtub and debris in the corners of the bathroom. 85% of the dishes, glasses and utensils in the kitchen were filthy. I was in utter shock when a bowl i went to use had a dirty film in it from the previous user. Yes, the rooms are large and there is a kitchen but the overall experience was so poor, I would advise on looking elsewhere until this hotel get a remodel. This hotel is not what I'm used to when staying at Marriott brand hotels. The management here has tarnised an otherwise upstanding reputation.
“Great experience”
I took my kids to visit FSU and we stayed here for one night, on a Monday night. We had great accomodations and everything was very clean. The staff was very courteous. The cocktails and snacks served in the evening were great. The kids ate platefuls of food then and at the breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay here again.
“The hotel was over sold or too busy to enjoy”
The hotel was clean but they were no please to park our car and the morning buffet was so pack no were to set.
