Our stay in Tuscaloosa

Posted 29-Mar-2015
Our room was clean and comfortable tho the door appeared to have had some damage as it was hard to shut and didn't feel secure. We asked for a non smoking room but the room smelt of smoke and there was an ashtray provided.

Yuck!! Never again

Posted 25-Mar-2015
We checked in around midnight after driving all day (young kids & my mother). Police was there upon arrival due to a guest having tires slashed so that was a bit unnerving. When we got in our room there was a dirty wadded up washcloth on the countertop along with soap already opened & another used towel. Obviously not cleaned but beds were made...with stained comforters. We were disgusted & scared to leave the room due to the chaos happening outside the room with the tire slashing. Yuck & Yiks!! Front desk said sorry & hope we come again...umm no thanks!!!!

Ok. After all it was only $60!

Posted 16-Mar-2015
Only real negative was our room was not ready after we checked in and, even after the cleaning staff knew we were waiting, they kept along at a snail's pace and didn't focus on our room. Wouldn't expect much more than that though!

Nice, cheap option

For what we paid ($50 a night), the rooms were clean, the staff was helpful, and it was an overall solid stay.

Better Than Expected

Posted 14-Mar-2015
Pros: The peace and quiet and the rooms.
Cons: Maybe this was just me but the air conditioner in my room didn't seem to have a heat, just cool and fan mode.
This Red Roof is significantly better than most of the other properties I have stayed before. The rooms were nice and exceeded my expectations for the price. The staff was nice.

Pleasant.

Posted 11-Mar-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Would be a four star with no problem.
Location: Not sure about things to do as I was there for a wedding.
The motel has been updated some what but needs a lot more done to it. Cleaning was ok but some training would help the staff and also the guest. Having been in the hotel and casino business for some 35 years I never try to over critical I just try to help when I can. This property could be an outstanding one with some loving care and updating.

Good hotel for the price

Posted 10-Mar-2015
Pros: Location, price, ample parking.
Cons: Rooms a little rough, and better on time prep.
Location: Plenty of food around and close to I-10 so easy to go to other places.
If your expecting a 4 star hotel for under $70 than you probably wont be happy. But for the price it was as expected. Only issue is room wasnt ready upon arrival and the cleaning staff rushed to prep it, leaving a dirty toilet seat and an old orange under the bed. I cleaned it with some spray I borrowed from the office and had no other issues.

Good hotel - a bit far from FAMU

Nice hotel, lots of dining options nearby. Just a little too far from FAMU
