“Great location, lacks some ammenities!”
Accomodations are great for Tally but lacks the ammenities that make a stay so much more relaxing. There is no valet, restaurant on site, room service or continental breakfast. The ice is located on the first floor bagged for you to take to your room. There is a bar with a lite menu but it closes earlier than most. For instance it closed at midnight on Friday nite of a game weekend. Would of liked to have breakfast in the room but no room service and it is not a room where you are going to find much privacy from those you are rooming with. The rooms and beds are comfortable. The facility is newer so there is not the accumulated mildew you often find in Tally hotels. It is convenient to the downtown get down and Kleman Plaza parties for game weekends if you get there to enjoy them. It is also close to the capital and FSU. So you could park and walk to all those venues. I would just like the other conveniences for the price since the hotel is pricey compared to others in the area.
“Comfortable downtown hotel near FSU”
My son recommended this hotel and I wasn't disappointed. The lobby was different, lots of open space, factory style ceiling and concrete floors. The staff was friendly. Selected a 2 queensize room and there was plenty of space. The room was clean and had a safe, refrig, coffee machine and iron with board. Free internet. Only 2 paper cups, but you can get more in the lobby. The room was facing parking lot/pool and quiet. (Heard it's noisy on other side). Fast food snacks available in the lobby, the same area where they serve breakfast cafe style, pay for what you take. Big parking lot which you'll get charged $5 for using (I knew about the fee, but they said nothing to me at check in, so someone else might be surprised). Close to everything downtown and only 4-5 blocks to FSU.
“Gen-X Hotel”
If you like ultra modern, hip hotels w/o room service or a restaurant, this is your place. A wonderful continental breakfast (not included in room cost) is available every morning. This hotel is a mirror copy of the one at O'Hare airport, Chicago.
“Great Hotel”
Great place to stay
“Nice visit”
The hotel is very new. The interior design in the lobby and in the rooms is very Ikea. My wife liked it a lot. The staff was very helpful. The AC was a little tricky to control -- a little too chilly for my taste, and you could hear traffic noise. That said, the hotel is very nice and extremely clean. I would stay again.
“Very nice, but avoid a roadside room”
Our (my husband and I) first stay at Aloft was very nice. The pictures are accurate and the room was clean and cozy. The only thing I will change on my next stay is the room location. We were on the second floor facing the street and the traffic sounded like we had the windows open. The fridge didnt work either but we werent concerned about that.
“Mediocre with Multiple Personalities”
We wanted to try something new since we travel to Tallahassee often and usually stay in the same spot, but I wish we would have tried elsewhere. The decor was sensory overload. Every type of color and texture you can imagine all thrown together in a jumbled mess. It looked like a preteen idea of high style. Rooms had blue velvet curtains covering the shelves instead of cabinets. Staff said "Aloha!" all the time which I never understood since it isn't a tropical themed hotel. I stayed for three nights and never did figure out this brand. What is it? I don't even think the staff knows. The staff was friendly but look dishevled and overworked. The bar downstairs had a decent selection but is within walking distance of Mint and Level 8 so we did dinner and drinks off site each night. Overall an ok visit with a decent rate. Probably won't be back unless I have my kids with me. They would love the pool. Its a much better layout than most hotel pools.
“Great modern design”
The design of the hotel was amazing. The products used in the hotel are great. The unexpected parking fee was a suprise.
“Excellent Downtown Location”
Old World view of Church on other side of Monroe. A modern comfortable place to stay.
“Will be staying at this location as often as available.”
I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations, service and location. This was my first stay at the hotel and it was quite enjoyable.
