“Not bad”

Welcome is a small moderately priced hotel that seems to cater to local busniness and salesmen. Located within walking distance of Taipei Main Railway and Bus Station. rooms are a bit on the small side, and showing some wear, but clean and comfortable, and well supplied with courtesy items and toiletries. The management seems to be diligent, the staff is courteous and professional. They have a small dining room on the 2nd floor that offers a light Taiwanese-American style breakfast buffet, that frankly, out does a lot of comparable American motels and Motor Inns. I cant give the Welcome 5 stars, having stayed in some of Taiwan's finest, but I'd give it a good 3 and a half, for the price.

Area recommendations

Taipei will may remind some of London, in its wide variety of boroughs. Good hotels are scattered throughout. You'll find clusters of them along Mingsheng and Zhongshan Road, the more cosmopolitan ares, but also elsewhere about the city.

“Great Spot”

I found the hotel to be modest, but extremely convenient to the MRT Shandao Temple metro line and a great value. By staying here, I was able to pretty much travel to all the main attractions in Taipei. The hotel also provides a complimentary breakfast that is filled with western and eastern treats. The room is made up very well each day and the staff is very friendly and cordial. Overall, I am very pleased with my choice.

Area recommendations

I most enjoyed traveling to the Lin Family Gardens. It's a hidden gem and it's about a 10 min walk from the MRT. The site formerly belonged to a very powerful family in Taiwan. The architecture of the structures inside this palace is quite a site. There are mazes of walkways and corridors that snake from temple to temple within the grounds. They are adorned with lanterns. Be sure to take your time here and travel through all the paths. They are nicely shaded by the very tall trees throughout the garden. You'll be pleasantly surprised here. Also great for kids as it provides them with a little adventure and culture. I'm not sure if there is a fee, but on the day that I showed up, it was free.

“Convenient location for subway and airport bus.”

The only downside to this hotel was the breakfast. There was nothing appealing to western tastes. This hotel caters to both locals and foreigners and needs to improve this aspect. Otherwise it was fine for the price. The location was excellent near to the subway station so it was easy to get about. Also the airport bus stops at the Sheraton hotel which is also just a short walk away.

“今回も良かった”

二度目の利用でしたが、今回も素敵な部屋に満足してます。華山に行くのに利用したのですが、華山までは徒歩圏内で便利。ＭＲＴからも近くバス停もあるので移動も便利です。朝食を利用してないので、内容は分かりません。あと、部屋のスタンドの電球が切れていたので困りました。禁煙ルームなのに少し部屋がタバコくさい感じもしました。部屋も寒くなかったので、これからの季節にはリピートすると思います。
