“Better than I expected”

Excellent hotel with ideal location, near subway, shops and resturants. Definetely will recommend to friends. The business center is nicely done with an outdoor patio decorated with peace and quiet. The room has adequate space, very clean and nicely designed restroom. Overall, we are very impressed with the hotel with our rates.

Getting around
If you haven't been to Taipei, taxi is the easier way to get you to where you want to go. Te fair is very reasonable. However, most taxi drivers do not speak english, so you need to write down the destination in Chiness fro the drivers.

“Nice new hotel, great location”

This is a newly opened hotel with everything new and shining. It located next to one of the subway station. There is a starbucks at the corner and many little restaurants near by. The hotel has transportation arrangement to go to airport with reasonable price and very comfortable private car. I will definetely stay in this hotel again when I go to Taipei.

“Great Experience in Taipei!”

I loved the Park Hotel as well as the staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The concierge, Paul was extremely helpful. If we needed to find a night market or store, the staff would make sure we knew where we were going before we left. This was very helpful since we didn't know the language or the city. We also visited the Business Office to make a fax and the staff was easy going and helpful. Also, the breakfast was a hit with my family. We weren't very far from Taipei or the metro station which was very convenient. The city was so clean, friendly and easy to navigate. My family and I are already planning to return in 3 years. I think anyone would be happy with their stay at this hotel. The only thing that was unusual was that every hotel room was different. My husband and I had a queen bed and a bigger bathroom. My in-laws had a king and a much smaller bathroom. My brother in law and his wife had a king and a big bathroom so if that is a concern, I'd call ahead. I'd like to thank everyone at the Park Hotel for making our trip enjoyable and comfortable. When we return to Taipei, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere other than the Park Hotel!

Area recommendations
We stayed in metro Taipei near the Daan Metro stop. I would definitely recommend this area. It's close to the metro, has plenty of shopping, treats and street vendors. We had some construction but it never bothered us. The city is so clean and safe that I would imagine most areas of Taipei would be ideal. With the metro so close, anywhere in the city was close at hand. We rode up to Danshui, which was a 40 minute metro ride, but it went by quickly since we were in a group. The scenery is spectacular and the people are very warm and welcoming. Very rarely did I feel out of place and I do not know the Chinese language at all. There is a lot of English so information is translated with a lot of ease. If you want history, culture, art, shopping, or architecture, you will be very happy to spend some time in Taipei. The country side is also a sight worth seeing but may require a bullet train to access. Overall, it was an awesome visit and my husband and I couldn't be happier with our purchase.
Getting around
The Metro is the cheapest way to get around at about a buck per ride. You can get a pass that is reloadable as well so it can last for your entire trip. If you're in heels or aren't close to a metro stop, the taxis aren't expensive either, compared to a New York taxi at least. Driving rules are more like guidelines so don't be surprised if the drivers make a few questionable turns. It may be helpufl to grab a card that has your hotel's name in Chinese as well so you can use it as a reference. Our hotel even had a small map on the back of their cards which was great!
What to pack
Be sure to pack an umbrella and/or a coat with a hood (especially for women). Tennis shoes are helpful if you're not on a business trip. Note though that the women of Taipei are very fashionable so there may be some clothes-envy. One trip to a night market could resolve that issue though.
Nightlife
We went to a few clubs but our favorite was the Ludxcy. The atmosphere is very energetic and there is an option of a "techno" club or a mainstream music club upon entering. You get a drink ticket with your entrance as well.

“Wonderful experience at Park Taipei!!!”

Check-in was a breeze. Front desk people friendly, courteous, helpful and so polite. Paul, Mark and JoJo Tan consistenly helped us and made our stay a pleasure. Rooms were spotless and people cleaning the rooms were polite and so accommodating. Continental breakfast was a feast - our family loved it. Neighborhood great - block away from subway; taxi's easy to get. We were so pleased with the Park Taipei - we will stay there again when we go back!!! Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to business people or families! We give this hotel an EXCELLENT rating, as well as all those who work there!!

“Best value”

The Park Taipei exceeded our expectations. We have experience with other facilities with global accommodations. I made a decision only after reading the reviews on Expedia and Trip Advisor (which were mixed but mostly good), but one never knows... The room was very clean as were the linens, furniture and fixtures. A breakfast buffet was included in our room rate. The selection was varied and tasty. I'll be traveling on business to Taiwan again and will stay at the Park Taipei.

“Hotel room is clean and nice”

I stayed in the family room which provide a king bed and a single bed, everything in the room is good, and very clean, well done for the housekeeping team. I was sick on the second day and was hoping that the hotel can help to call-in a doctor as I was too sick to walk. To our surprise, the answer from the reception is that the hotel does not have any contracted doctor to call-in, hence, I have to go to hospital myself. This is the only bad thing about the hotel. Another thing to note is that the hotel does not have a good room service menu, only about 10 items, mainly pasta and rice, so if you are looking for light snack or even simple thing like sandwich, you will be disappointed. Overall, I like the room, super comforatble and clean and staff are friendly but other services for guests in special need will have to improve when compare to international standard hotels.

Events and shows
If you want to visit the World Flora Expo in Taipei, you will need to go to the pavilion that you would like to visit and Q for the reservation tickets early in the mroning. The reservation ticket will indicate the time for you to visit the pavillion. We did not get to see any of the popular pavilion as reservation tickets were all taken for the day when we arrived in around 10am+. So, we just wonder around the "ticket free" pavilions and nothing fantastic really....the good one are Pavilion of Dream, I heard.

“Best Hotel in Taipei”

Staffs are all very polite and friendly. They will greet each guest every time we go out and come back to the hotel. Being a very new hotel, the hotel room is flawless. Every request is responded very quickly and the room is very well kept and bathroom is spotless. I will definitely come back to this hotel again when i go to Taipei next time. No doubt !
