I first stay at the Hyatt Taipei in 1997. At that time I was very very impress by the size and class of this hotel. I went back with my wife and kid for a short stay (3 nights). We usually stay in Tango or similar boutique hotel in Taipei. Hyatt was a default choice, but we gave it a chance due to the location. The interesting thing is that this hotel seems frozen in time ! Rooms have not been renovated since.... 1997 ? It give a nostalgia feeling of being back to the future. Clearly not a lot of investment have been done on this hotel. Wonder how long it will last until Hyatt realized they went off of their standard. Having say that, Hyatt Taipei remain a very well located hotel and the level of service is impressive. Great staff all over, great breakfast, very nice spa, .... a place you can enjoy and relax.

The hotel was great, the breakfast included was awesome. A little pricey for the hotel but probably because I booked last minute and the dates were during a busy trade show. Hotel is close to 101. There is also a cool lounge located inside the hotel. Overall great service and good time!

Courteous, but non-invasive service. Excellent accommodations. Full breakfast included. In the evening also a sort of happy hour with free food and beverages. All together a nice experience. Would stay there again.

Overall, this hotel shouldn't run business as it is. It's my first time stay at Hyatt but it was nothing but disappointment.

I stay at the Grand Hyatt nearly every time I'm in Taipei. The location cannot be beat, and it remains an excellent value for what you get in service and facilities. (I was concerned this time because I read a review about mosquitos in the lobby, but all was fine -- I sat with a customer in the lobby for an hour and saw and felt nothing to indicate that there was a problem with mosquitos.)
