Uncomfortable bed, bathtub couldn’t be used (apparently because of Covid) breakfast was not available (apparently because of Covid) business center was non existent. The WiFi worked and the air conditioning was on full blast, although the weather outside was cold and rainy. Location was good. Front desk staff was friendly.

cheap hotel in daan district, clean, near mrt. CONS: i booked a business double room with window, however the non- window room was given to us. The receptionist said there are business double rooms without window, unfornately they are fully booked for the week so they can not tranfer us. if i could remember, it is always specified in hotels.com booking process if the room you are reserving is with or without a window and it usually comes cheaper.... had we known this would happen, we could have cancelled our bookings.

Good central location and service
Excellent central location right next to subway station. Breakfast buffet could be better, lack of a window was a bit depressing after 3 days, staff lovely, overall good.

Stay away from this hotel.
Supposed to have a room with windows, but, sorry, no room with window for me when I checked in. Things, however, got worse from that point on. Got into one room, which had cracked floor. So I requested for another, which, after I settled in, had foul odor from the carpet area near the bathroom due to leak from bath tub. Air conditioning was not strong enough to tame the sudden Indian summer days in November. Overall a sub-par hotel. Stay away.

You get what you pay for
The hotel is very conveniently located right outside an MRT station, in the heart of the city. That was the plus point. Room was ok. The undersides of the furniture were extremely dirty. There was a lot of dust, like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Staff however, are very friendly and helpful, albeit not proficiently bilingual.

No window. Very hard to find (on 11th floor). Breakfast starts too late (7.30pm) and I had to miss it. But I liked the staff and they were friendly.

First of all, great staff..... but everything else? Where do I even begin..... Rooms are old, moldy, tiles in the bathrooms were missing... dust in AC and wallpaper half digested by mold and fungi. White chair cushions had brown stains on both sides..... Did I mention mold everywhere? Breakfast area was dirty too, had to change 2 bowls before finding a clean one. Serious health concerns. Had to complain to the manager and talk him into letting me check out early (was going to staying there for 2 weeks). I am no clean freak and my own room is pretty horrid.... never thought I'd see a hotel room worse than my room.

We would stay here again - No hesitation.
The Eastern Star Hotel is on the 11th floor of the building. This is not a problem as the Front Desk is on the same floor as the rooms. The rooms are a a bit tired, cigarette burns on the fittings and carpets. The rooms were clean. Fantastic shower! One elevator has it's panels held in place with duct tape. The staff were wonderful! They were super helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The MRT station is right outside the building so, getting to anywhere is easy.

nice to stay. a extremly good location.
the room look a litter bit small but quite clean and comfort. location is fantastic, 50 meter away from subway and is a downtown central. along the road is full of shop and food.

chilly hotel but great location.
i stayed one week in this hotel for 1 week.the rooms are small but sufficient,if you send most of your time outside sightseeing,shopping no problem,but there is no space for recriation, for working or business room. the most annoying thing is the air condition whitch is turned down to minimum.15 degrees even if is cold outside.it is not possible to stay in the room for more then 15 minutes, because you start freezing. the adventage is the central location and the friendly staff,helpful anytime.

Budget accommodation in excellent location
The hotel is in a shopping/dining district and located metres away from the metro station. The business room was clean and spacious enough for two people whilst the bathroom had mould on the ceiling and shower. I would only stay here again if I was on a budget.

Right in the middle of the city and next to the subway station. Tons of restaurants, bars, and tourist sites all in walking distance. It's not the fanciest, but the location can't be beat!

Enjoyed this hotel and friendly staff. Even provided a free shuttle service to the Museam!!! Clean, excellent location, on the 11 th floor of a highrise multiuse building

Friendly staff , fantastic location
M a single female from Singapore. I find the security of tis hotel safe.. Staff were extremely friendly n helpful. The smell of ciggerate in the lift is the only turn off.. Man guarding the lifts doesn't bother me n even pressed the lift for me knowing m a guest on the 11 th floor ! Was upgraded to the deluxe room upon checked in... What a wonderful thing! Can even see Taipei 101 for the rooms full wall window! I will definitely go back to tis hotel . But maybe not suitable for family with kids cos the lift smell. MRT station exit 2 is jus few steps from the main entrance!

The bang for your buck was fantastic. It's a small, simple room- not very luxurious. But free internet and breakfast is a bonus considering the low price. Additionally it is is in the heart of downtown, near the train and every good restaurant and bar.

Worst stay ever
The rooms in the hotel are really not what they look like on the pictures. The first room we got was so low that I hit my head in the ceiling and I'm only 183 cm. After complaining we got an other room, but I almost wish we had kept the first one. The room had mold all over the bathroom, the carpet was dirty with hair and stains and the room smelled old cigaretts. There was also mold on the carpet in front of the bathroom and it looked really disgusting. After complaining we got to change the room the next day. The new room was a little bit better, but there was still som mold in the shower and hair on the carpet. It seems like they have no standards for cleanliness. I'm lucky we only stayed two nights. STAY OUT OF HERE!

This so call hotel is within a old building with full of night clubs. The lift smell so bad and don't expect anything clean. I spend one night and will definitely never stay there again. The location is good because is close to everywhere. The bfast is avg and internet is ok. I had a room facing the busy road so can't sleep well and can hear the xxx sound in the next room. Actually is these hourly motel for these night club customer. Not recommended at all.

It's Not a Hotel! No Family Stay - Period
The room is tiny. The ceiling is very low. There s no sound insulation. It's more like an hourly motel or inn for love birds. You can't sleep when your next door neighbor working extra hard overnight. May suggest to someone who only needs to stay for couple hours, definitely not for family with children. Parents would be embarrassed if children ask questions about people next door.

駅からは近くてわかりやすいです。 写真で見ていたよりもビジネスホテル感が強かったです。寝るだけの利用であれば問題ありません。 最低限のシャンプー、ボディソープ、歯ブラシ、ドライヤー、タオル、スリッパはあります。 個人的に必要だった物は、トリートメント、ハンドソープ、パジャマ（常にクーラーが付いていてすぐ消しましたが寒かったです）はあった方がいいです。 日本語を話せるスタッフさんは私の時はいませんでしたが、笑顔で挨拶してくれるので印象は良かったです。
