It was fine

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: 1) The price: $54 a night 2) Waffles - Delicious! 3) Clean room, comfortable bed. 4) Refrigerator and Microwave in room
Cons: 1) They really need to add more choices to the complimentary breakfast. They had only two items: Waffles and Muffins. Drinks: Coffee or juice.
Location: 1) Lemay Car Museum - FANTASTIC!!! 2) Point Defiance Park - A must see 3) WA History, Tacoma Glass, & Art Museums - all on the same block
I stayed 2 nights and it was fine. The good part was that I booked it through Expedia's no name hotel booking service where all you know is the general location and whether it's a one, two, three star hotel. This one was a two star hotel and so by using the service I paid $54 a night instead of $79 by booking it and knowing the name. HOORAY! A dollar saved is a dollar earned. While the hotel wasn't anything to sing and dance about, it was fine for a short impulse vacation. By the way, the gardens at Point Defiance Park during this time of year (Sept 12) were gorgeous. There were a couple of guests who were talking loudly outdoors for a while both evenings, but it wasn't that big a deal and they quieted down after a while. Traffic noise is moderate to loud but you can always use a fan to drown it out. The TV was a 32 inch set with Standard Definition.

Room Cleaniness

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: The lobby was very nicely done.
Cons: Breakfast could consist of something other than carbs. Waffles and muffins is not a great way to start the morning. Fruit would have been nice.
Location: Location was ok.

Uncomfortable stay

This should be rate as 1* motel, not 2* hotel. Room has all convenient appliances. Area is quiet, but uncomfortable.

Good budget hotel

Staff very helpful and courteous at all times. Room clean and spacious. Only criticism would be a somewhat restricted breakfast menu. Otherwise very good value

Nice friendly staff. Rooms are clean

Posted 24-Aug-2014
The hotel is not bad for the price. Staff was friendly and really pleasant. Rooms need updating but very clean. The location area is horrible. Bad enough I would pack my kids and go if I could have gotten a refund on my reservation. Overall clean and nice but area is seriously rough

Night 1 of trip

Posted 16-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
In regards to the cleanliness, we did find a couple of black hairs on the counter by the bathroom sink. Also, the 'deodorizer' in the room was a bit strong. It would be nice if there were other choices on continental breakfast. The overall stay was great and the price was right. Thanks
