Great staff Super friendly

Posted 20-Jul-2014
Pros: Staff, service, centrally located
Cons: rooms furniture, and the lounge should stay open latter
Immediately after entering the front door I was greeted. Fast check in, good room, but best of all was the front desk clerk that checked me in and then followed up with a call to make sure i was good to go. I would defiantly stay again

Took part in a recent microcar weekend and this was the host hotel. Everything was very nice, well organized and the location was ideal for all we were doing.

Nice facility for the area

Posted 07-Jul-2014
Pros: Clean, well located.
Cons: Hot tub jets.
Location: Lemay museum (cars), Tacoma Dome. The downtown/waterfront museums and park are few blocks away (but no walking distance.) Ammar's Restaurant!! Greek!!
Stayed here to enjoy auto museum and, seeing as it was near a holiday weekend, go to the beach. Yes, Ocean Shores is just 2 hours away, and very little is available there in the summer--not even campgrounds. It was facing the interstate on a very busy section, but noise-proofed well. Our room overlooked the marina, which was pleasant. Continental breakfast was just o.k., breads fairy dried out, "hot" water for tea barely warm. Although there was a menu for upgrading to full breakfast, we were not even offered it the first day, and had to ask for it the second. Happy Hour in bar o.k., we were only ones there. They had reasonable recommendations for dinner. Pool area nice, no bubbles in the hot tub. Frankly, so empty I don't know how they stay in business, but I'm sure it's busy when there are activities at the dome.

Nice hotel, close to train station

Posted 04-Jul-2014
Pros: As I said above, the hotel was clean, nice, and the staff was mostly helpful.
Cons: I left some things behind in my room. I was unable to come back for them the evening of my departure because housekeeping was gone for the night.
Location: It is close to the train station and not close to things to do.
The hotel was nice, clean, and staff friendly and helpful, except that housekeeping had some things that I left behind. I was unable to pick them up until the next day as housekeeping was gone for the night. The desk clerk kept telling me that they would call me but I was unable to receive calls. I finally convinced her to check for me and the items were found and left at the desk for me to pick up. These items were important things that I needed right away.

Was a great location for convenien

Posted 17-Jun-2014
Was a very convenient location as we wanted to stay between Portland and Seattle but had to make a stop in Rochester on the way down, and the location just off the highway couldn't have been any easier to find. The woman at the front desk was very welcoming considering it was almost midnight and they had even put a note on our reservation that we had been at the Mariners game so she could ask us how it was. Great service, very clean and comfortable rooms, I would definitely stay here again.

It needs a overhaul. For the price I would say stay at a betterbrand name hotel in the area.

Good Beds, Continental Breakfast included.

Posted 26-May-2014
Pros: Good beds, and nice Front Desk staff.
Cons: Give rewards points for stays no matter how it's booked. Also, have cleaner rooms.
Location: LeMay Car Museum & Tacoma Dome are 2 great things & within walking distance. Also, there's a fantastic Med./Greek Restaurant on E. 26th nearby.
So the beds are good, but Expedia says full breakfast, not really. If you want a hot breakfast, the minimum is $4.99 extra. Would have gone for the Best Western Tacoma Dome, but wanted included hot breakfast so chose La Quinta, instead. On the plus side, the staff @ the Front Desk is really nice. Wanna save a few bucks, choose La Quinta. Be advised, though, when using a "third party" like Expedia, you won't get rewards points towards free stays with La Quinta. This is per the Front Desk @ the hotel.

Needs an update

Posted 20-May-2014
Pros: staff/location
Cons: repaint, remodel
Location: Tacoma waterfront, museums, Tacoma Dome, easy access to freeway to Seattle, Olympia, Bremerton, Mt. Rainier if you have several places you need to go.
The location to freeway and ability to get to all points north, south and west are the reason I have stayed at this hotel for 14 years. But in 14 years it feels like they never update anything but bedding and shower curtains. I stayed 3 days, went to another chain and came back for another two nights. The room I had the first 3 nights definitely needed paint. The wall behind the tv was almost black. In that room, the mirrors were smeary in both rooms as if the cleaning person had no idea how to polish a mirror. The second room was much better. All of the staff are super helpful, friendly and professional. It has a nice pool and a small workout room. The free breakfast buffet, well, you get what you pay for. I will return because I spend little time except to sleep there and the location works for me. Otherwise I would go somewhere else. UPDATE!

Convenient location

Posted 02-May-2014
Clean and comfortable hotel in a good location with easy access to the freeway. This is a pet friendly hotel and they don't charge for your dogs which is very unusual. The free breakfast is not as good as in other hotels we've stayed in I.e.: sugary pastry, sugary cereal, sugary yogurt, waffles, toast, hard boiled eggs. The staff was very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
