Nice hotel, very expensive

Posted 15-Nov-2014
Cons: Parkin fee. Get rid of it or lower the price. Too expensive especially from someone traveling outside of Washington.
Location: Not much located nearby. The University was across the street which made the area nice and friendly. There was a downtown look a like street.
The hotel was very nice from the lobby to the room. The elevator is well decorated as well as the hallways. They even have snacks and a mini bar in most rooms. Mine did. They do not charge extra unless something is missing from the snack tray or mini bar. One down side of the visit is the $16 A NIGHT PARKING FEE. Was not pleased about that knowing I was staying two nights. I already paid a lot of money for my stay and the parking fee did not make me happy.

Surprisingly nice

Awesome hotel....converted Sheraton but it's an art gallery as well. Each floor has a unique sculpture with description of the artist. The elevator control is a cool touch screen where you can select your floor before the elevators arrive. Rooms are very comfortable and they're generous with parking.

3 nights for a Wedding-- not near Seattle-

Posted 21-Oct-2014
All staff extremely helpful and friendly. We stayed on the executive floor-25th and private breakfast was convenient on that floor. Great lobby with glass fire, great bar, local artwork and string trio on a Friday night. If you need to be in Tacoma, this is the place! Traffic to Seattle can be heavy.

BEST PILLOWS EVER

Posted 05-Oct-2014
Pros: The view of the near by marina, museums and Mt. Rainier. Very clean and pleasant. Love the glass
Location: The location is perfect if you like cars, glass art, rock and roll and great food. And the dang pillows, did not want to get out of the bed.
We needed a quick getaway, found it right in Tacoma. Gorgeous view, great food at the BITE. BREAKFAST WAS AWESOME IN BED. We will go back. The art was amazing.

The valet and reception staff were excellent! Rooms were spacious and well supplied with linens and amenities, and other needs- although some in the basket were not family friendly...

Beautifully appointed lobby

Posted 28-Sep-2014
Pros: Lobby spaces, the spectacular art, the details of the immaculate room, which included a small table for a laptop, and a marvelous view.
Cons: Size of the towels, maybe?
Location: Its location is a fifteen minute walk (max) to many of the sights of the historic old town, and of the Glass Bridge.
A beautifully appointed lobby is among the excellent features of this property. Beautiful and unexpected art furnishings grace the lobby and the vaulted ceiling spaces provided by the unique architecture of this modern hotel.

Nice boutique hotel

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Really neat glass artifacts on display and artists' recognized on each floor of the hotel. Stayed for a night in a room facing the Tacoma view. The room is fairly small and felt like it was renovated. The staff was quite friendly. Parking cost $16 a night for self parking - which we took. There is also valet parking which cost a bit more. Cool night lights were on when we entered the room. Bed was extremely comfortable. Bathroom shower was pretty dark but made due. Overall it was a pleasant one night stay.

Beautiful hotel marred only by its elevator blues

Posted 03-Sep-2014
Pros: Great service, beautiful decor, comfortable
Cons: Why is only one elevator running? This is the only reason I didn't give this hotel full marks.
Very nice feel to this hotel. Loved the glass art featured on each floor and in the common areas. The only elevator that appeared to be working was beautiful - touch screen controls and lovely walls - but the wait for an elevator at checkout time seemed unreasonable. Several people on lower floors had to wait for another elevator as we were the last ones able to squeeze on at the 11th floor. My husband, two teenaged daughters and I were predictably a tight fit in a room with two double beds, but the room was quite comfortable and would be great for two people. Very nice bathroom. We were short two bath towels in our room (again, a room likely meant for two) but housekeeping was very speedy with delivery of more towels once we asked. All in all, excellent service, and I would definitely stay again if I could be assured that the elevator problem were fixed.

Dear Linda, Thank you for your comments and please accept my apologies for the inconveniences that you and your family endured with our elevators. The good news is that aside from some LCD messaging screens and additional back-lighting in the Elevator Cars, all elevators are again up and running at full speed. I am glad that your overall visit was a good one and do hope you'll have a chance to stay with us again in the future. Sincerely, Stan Kott, General Manager

Comfort in Tacoma.

Posted 22-Aug-2014
The room was not only clean but the pillows and towels were first rate. We had a lovely view of the port and the staff was very accomadating as I had two children accompanying me on this 5 day business trip. The food for room service was always hot and delicious. All I could've asked for.

The Murano was everything it promised to be and more. The room was specious and the restaurant downstairs - Bite - was fantastic. One note - valet parking is only $19 / night - it costs $16 to self park. Enjoy your stay!
