Classy artistic hotel in the middle of Tacoma

Posted 17-Apr-2015
Hotel Murano is a clean, stylish hotel, with stunning art work on every floor. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. The sound separation between rooms was not great--we could hear our neighbor clearly, but it was not a big issue. The hotel is so huge, that if noise was an issue, the staff could easily switch you to another floor and room.

Pros: very friendly staff
Cons: We had trouble finding parking due to a convention. Had to wait until the event was over to park our car and check in. Only 1 coffee cup in room?
My girlfriends and I stayed here before the Maroon Five concert. The staff was very friendly at check in and check out. The room was clean but not "sparkling". You could see drips down the bathroom door from others hair spray and the doorknobs were not cleaned. also, there was only one coffee cup...weird. Just that little extra touch would have made a difference.

Exceptional art

Posted 01-Apr-2015
This hotel is notable for its design and for the art on display throughout. Great staff. One suggestion is that the floor lamp switch requires care to access as it involves putting one's arm up inside the shade and quite close to the warm light bulb. Otherwise a fine experience.

Cool Modern Hotel

Posted 30-Mar-2015
Pros: Design and location.
Cons: Noise in rooms. Restaurant crunch at dinner.
Location: Everything in downtown is easy to get to. The Glass Museum is very nice. The car museum also. Tacoma dome is close too.
This is an excellent hotel for all downtown Tacoma experiences. It is close to the light rail system that covers downtown and in a safer part of the city. The hotel is clean and modern with excellent design touches. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. The rooms are somewhat noisy due to the thinner wall construction and the elevators that generate cable and trolley sounds. Staff is excellent and attentive. Restaurant gets busy and that affects getting a table at dinner and getting room service at the same time. You can take the light rail to the Sound Area Transit system stop. Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay.

Birthday celebration

Hotel staff friendly; restaurant/room service staff rude. Food - horrible (our second time here and more disappointed this time around). Parking ridiculously priced- you might as well get valet because it's only two dollars more. Beautiful hotel...improvements need to be made by management to keep people coming.

My 17 year old daughter and I liked everything

Posted 25-Mar-2015
Pros: Modern decor but not full of itself
Cons: add vending machines or small store for misc items
Location: We were in Tacoma to visit University of Puget Sound. It is a 10 minute (max) drive.
This hotel is easy to find, easy to self park, close to everything - we were there to visit University of Puget Sound. The room was quiet, very comfortable, the WIFI worked well, the TV was not a relic, the view was lovely. The food in the restaurant was very good and the waiter was pleasant even though we arrived about 45 minutes before they closed for the night and were obviously his only table. The only tiny thing I would change is - there are no vending machines and no little store for buying sundries. There is an honor bar in the room but it didn't have quite what we wanted which was several bottles of water. We ended up being able to get them from the restaurant.

High expectations with disappointing results

Posted 23-Mar-2015
Staff okay, then the disappointing time begins.....long wait for an elevator to show, room right next door to elevator bank, room nice and clean but smallish, fridge locked up in cabinet (seriously why), HVAC vent blew on me while sleeping throughout the night along with hearing the elevator coming and going from our floor, phone in room did not work, and unable to soak in the tub as the stopper did not work....so I think you will agree this was a total disappointment for the money we spent!!
