Nice hotel in Downtown Tacoma

Posted 18-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Make the parking spaces wider and clean the carpets.
This hotel is centrally located, has easy access to the freeway and is within walking distance from some quality restaurants.

Decent Hotel. Scary Location. Hobos!

Posted 09-Jun-2015
Pros: beds, lobby, parking garage
Cons: clean up the block around it. Dunno how you're going to do that!
The hotel is nice & fresh. The lobby, inviting, everything is very clean, white, up to date. Nice snacks to be bought, nice pool, good elevators. But oh oh, why is there a security guard in the lobby? Then, once it's morning and you look around, you realize the property is butted up against a whole abandoned BLOCK of buildings. Smashed in doors/windows, hobos (5 of them) sleeping on the sidewalk about 200 feet from the hotel driveway. The bar across the street at night was blasting out noise, motorcycles and cars were revving their engines... But the room was so comfy! So nicely appointed. really, really nice beds and clean everything. But would I pay $170 to stay at the hotel again? No way. This just isn't a great place for this hotel, or they gotta clean the area up a bit.

In a rough part of town but brand new facility

Posted 01-Jun-2015
Pros: New, clean. close to Tacoma Dome
Cons: Lots of abandoned buildings and bums/homeless around but that's just the area, not the hotel.
Location: Tacoma dome, limited eating in walking distance.
Hotel staff were helpful, breakfast had lots of options and facilities were clean and new, rooms were nicely furnished and large.

A disappointment

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: nice room, comfy bed
Cons: you can't improve your location -- it is an ugly and dangerous part of town. the price was too high for the location.
Location: avoid getting mugged
The hotel is in a strange and a forlorn industrial part of downtown. the view to the street is a wasteland. For the price, i would have expected a much more desirable location. Our first night was terrible because we couldn't sleep. Right outside our window was a group of young people drinking, talking and shouting, revving cars, and general loudness. The police came a few times, but the kids continued on. When we complained, we couldn't get any refund on our room because we booked through expedia and prepaid. The staff did buy us dinner, which was a very nice gesture.

NKOTB concert.

Posted 08-May-2015
Stayed here while in Tacoma for the New Kids On The Block concert. The walk from the hotel to Tacoma Dome was quick. After the concert (11pm) the neighborhood felt a little sketchy as the hotel is located in the industrial area of Tacoma but we made it back safely with no incident. The room was super clean, the parking was a exclusive to the guests so we felt like our vehicle was safe. The bed was comfortable. I will stay here again when visiting for a concert or otherwise.

Disappointment

Posted 05-May-2015
Pros: It's location to the Tacoma Convention Centre.
Cons: The warmth and friendliness of the front desk staff and cleaning of the rooms before 4:00 pm Real cutlery.
Location: Tacoma museum and glass museum were interesting and reasonably priced. Great walking and historical buildings. Great restaurants, friendly people
The location of the hotel to the Tacoma Convention Centre was probably the only redeeming feature. The breakfast room staff were pleasant and friendly but the plastic cutlery was tacky. I've stayed in the Holiday Inn in North Vancouver on many occasions and it's an enjoyable and far less expensive experience in a beautiful facility. Very disappointed in this one.
