Great place to stay for a Concert at Tacoma Dome

Posted 23-Nov-2014
We went to the Fleetwood Mac concert and wanted a place close to catch a cab. Cab was not needed we simply caught the free transit right next to the Marriott. A 5 minute ride. It dropped us one block from the Dome. On the way back it dropped nearly right in front of the hotel. Before the concert we had dinner at Pacific Rim restaurant on the corner. Great food too. Get reservations though. Many missed out.

The hotel was fine, but the hotel restaurant called the Bistro was not well ran. Waited over 45 minutes to get two sandwichs we ordered for dinner before going to a concert. The next morning it looked like they were still very slow on service so we walked down the street for breakfast. Hotel is great: restaurant leaves a lot to be desired.

Surpassed my high expectations

Posted 10-Nov-2014
Pros: The Staff was friendly, the accommodations were great.
Cons: The only, and I mean ONLY, complaint, is that the card reader in the elevator is a finicky beast.
Location: Close to downtown Tacoma, right across the street from the convention center, close to the Tacoma Dome, walking distance to food, coffee, alcohol.
The Courtyard Marriott in Tacompton, err, I mean Tacoma, is the nicest Marriott I have ever stayed at. We like to stay at Marriotts because you are pretty much guaranteed a nice hotel, but this is by far one of the nicest Marriotts we have ever stayed. The rooms are different, but we believe that is because it is a "funky" building, but it works out great! The rooms we stayed in have a long hallway when you first enter, which is a little different, but the benefit was absolutely zero hallway noise. The staff was friendly and great, and we even received Paul Mitchell shampoo in the bathrooms! Usually we just get Tea-Tree.

Food selections were poor and no nearby resturants

Posted 02-Sep-2014
Pros: Room was regularly cleaned
Cons: Food and eating options
Location: There was nothing nearby that met out needs, no food establishments, shopping, or sites
Expected overall better facility. A lot was lacking with little selection for food.

Friendly staff.... safe environment

Posted 28-Aug-2014
Pros: Super clean and nice staff. Comfy beds.
Location: Not much to do there. We did day trips. Point defiance and Anthonys restaurant were fantastic.
The room was nice and clean. Good street view. The pool was nice for family fun. It was only 3.5 feet at it's deepest but was ok to float around in. Valet service was good. The bistro was a little too café for me. We were hoping for room service but there was none. The lobby was nice to sit around and watch people in. We stayed for 3 nights. Room seemed soundproof. We were very happy with the staff. Everyone including security greeted us on every occasion. Laundry, ice and candy machines on our floor was nice.

Fine hotel in Tacoma

We stayed in Tacoma for a few days to attend our son's Change of Command ceremony at Fort Lewis. The hotel and its staff were both terrific.

Hotel fine - staff lacking

Posted 15-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
We booked with Marriott and were told that we would have a complimentary breakfast. When we checked in, the hotel clerk said that whatever website we used was wrong. The valet told us that parking was free - and then we had a charge on our bill for it. When I asked the manager about it, all he said was that the Marriott reservation line gets things wrong and we had to pay for parking. It seems that the marketing department and the on site-employees are not in sync, and the staff is very disinterested in their customers.
