OK but "sad" place

Posted 28-Jan-2015
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Parking.
Cons: Pretty much everything - the place is aging FAST!
Very clean place with plenty of free parking. The room was just fine, clean and comfortable. While my floor (5th) was designated as "non-smoking," it reeked of smoke. The room itself was quite small. Mine was facing the highway: while it was definitely not sound-proof, I slept fine. What I did not like about the room was it's antiquated AC system. I could not figure out how to adjust it to a comfortable level. At the nightly rate that I paid I would expect a digital (climate) control device, with a remote? Finally, I was baffled by the single-handle faucet on the bathroom sink: no matter what direction I turned it, I failed to obtain any cold (or at least, cool) water. The tub faucet worked fine though. Oh, one more thing, vending machines on all floors were 3/4 empty. The breakfast was very basic ... again at the nightly rate I paid I would expect something better.

Pros: Location. The free breakfast was better than in other hotels of this price range I've stayed in. Generally a clean and comfortable room.
Cons: Maybe the staff could be a little friendlier. Also be able to take food up to your room to eat (ie paper plates) instead of having to eat in the lobby
Location: Walking distance to a few restaurants, stores (a cool little book store), Freighthouse Square, the Tacoma Dome. Also short drive to downtown Tacoma
Overall I enjoyed my stay. The location is great and easy to find (really close to the Tacoma Dome obviously and a short walk to Freighthouse Square where there are stores, restaurants, etc). Ample parking in the garage. The room was nice enough; comfortable bed, nice TV, mini fridge and microwave, plus I liked that you could actually open the window a bit and get some fresh air. The small couch and table were wedged too close together and the couch wasn't that comfortable. My only complaint about the cleanliness is there were some hairs (long black hairs - not mine) on a towel in the bathroom. When I checked in the woman behind the front desk wasn't that friendly - not rude exactly, just bored and/or tired and didn't reciprocate my 'thank you.' In the lobby there's a small restaurant with a bar, and the free breakfast was decent.

Good Location

Posted 19-Jan-2015
Next door to Tacoma Dome and one block from Link Rail stop (free) that goes through downtown to visit Museum of Glass, WA State History Museum, Tacoma Art Museum, UW Tacoma, Convention Center. These are close enough for people that prefer to walk. Quiet area with clean, comfortable rooms; excellent breakfast (included) with sausage links, scrambled eggs, waffles, pancakes or french toast, and biscuits/gravy, as well as the usual hotel breakfast buffet items.

Nice place for the money, and a great location to boot. Perfect for events at the Tacoma Dome and still a very short drive into downtown Tacoma.

Perfect for this trip

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Pros: Location & clean
Cons: The paint in the bathroom
Location: Great! this is located in the perfect location if you are going to the Tacoma Dome.
The locations was great due to or event at Tacoma Dome. Security for entrance in the hotel was good... (needed a card to get from the parking garage to the lobby/rooms. The accommodations were good, affordable and staff friendly.

Great for Tacoma dome shows

Posted 11-Jan-2015
Great location for a show at the dome. Rooms a little small but clean. No plugins by the bed for phone. Great breakfast! Plugins in the bathroom don't hold anything. Got a great price through expedia so was way worth the price.
