“Syracuse”
Great wedding venue
“Lovely hotel, great Expedia deal”
My room was immaculate. Perfect size, great bathroom, excellent decor. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. A perfect experience all the way around.
“Excellent”
Great hotel, would definitely visit again
“Paper thin walls”
Nice lobby is a little deceiving as the walls areso thin I thought my alarm was going off only to figure out is was on the other side ofvthe wall. And I couldn't turn it off. Room is sparse but basically fine.
“Worst hotel I've stayed at in years.”
Room was tiny and looked out on an alley on first floor side of hotel. No coffee in room. Tiny bar of soap in bathroom for four nights.Charged for phone calls I did't make (these were taken off bill when I complained). Room rates were ridiculously high for what was a tiny, cramped facility.
“Well worth the extra money”
As far as the bad reviews I have seen about this hotel, I believe that you get what you pay for.The single & double rooms are in the same building as the front desk which is an older building & seems to be where all the complaints are coming from. Any of the larger suites are located in the newer "Mayflower" building which seems to be where all of the good reviews are coming from. The front desk staff was very friendly & when we checked in we were told we got an upgrade to a jacuzzi suite! After we checked in we were looking at the poi fish in the lobby & a lady walked by & stopped to look at them with us. She explained that they had just gotten a few new fish, so obviously she worked at the hotel. We ran into a few emplyees on the elevator & they were also very friendly, I just can't say enough how nice everyone at the hotel was to my husband & I. I only wish we didn't have a concert to go to that night so we could have taken advantage of the jacuzzi upgrade & spent more time in the room. We would like to go back again when we don't have anywhere to be just take advantage of the luxuries of the rooms & we would like to see the lounge & restaurant which we didn't have time to do.
“Friendly service, clean premises”
The Gennessee is a nice establishment with friendly service, clean premises, and a comfortable bed. It may not be a big city 5 star hotel, but still its a nice, reasonable place to stay, and better than what I had expected for a hotel located next to a big university.
“Not Impressed try the Sheraton”
Nice hotel in a bad section of the city. Room was clean on check in our second day returning to the room we found there had been no maid service. Hotel quickly rectified. The second night of our stay, there was a wedding in the hotel and it was very noisy..too noisy to sleep. We left very early the next day. I contacted the hotel with my concerns and did not get a return reply. The tv was so small in the room that we couldnt even see it from the bed. The lower channels didn't work at all.
“Very Grand Hotel”
The location is very close to Syracuse University. The hotel is very nice, room very spacious and well appointed.
“Beautiful hotel, not great service.”
The hotel was beautiful but the check in staff were not very welcoming or helpful.
