立地が良い

Posted 05-Jul-2015
Pros:

Nice Hotel - Great Location

Posted 05-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff, room size and cleanliness
Cons: Free internet only in lobby, not an issue for Aussies, but OS visitors prefer free wifi in rooms. Bin liners need to be provided
Location: Wynyard train station is a 50m walk (Coles S/market), The Rocks 10 minute walk, Shopping Pitt st etc 10 minute walk. Bridge climb was 15 minute walk
We arrived late at around 9pm, greeted by friendly staff, and given room 413 (rear facing room). Our hotel room was of good size, and bathroom was clean. We stayed for 6 nights, concierge and front desk staff were very helpful for directions and assistance. We didn't eat at hotel so no comment on food, with so many eating options locally we were spoiled for choices. Beds were comfortable. We will be coming back.

Cons: Catering as above
Location: Good
The accommodation, reception, bar were all terrific. Went to a function in the Hobart Room on the Saturday and the food was cold, we were supposed to have a glass of wine with out meal and there were no glasses on the table. By the time everyone got a glass the main course was finished. By the time the waitress came to our table with the wine we were all finished our main and dessert so very few had a glass of wine. There was only one girl on for a room of around 100 people! There was no coffee or tea prepared and when it did come we were give paper cups.............One of the worst organised functions as far as the catering goes that I have ever been to.

just not enough staff

Posted 03-Jul-2015
Pros: Location is great, you can actually open a window
Cons: Cleaning and number of staff to assist
Location: Close to shopping and trains, opposite
The location is great and room was fine but there was no service for the room, really slow support at checkout and concierge, while staff wer helpful and pleasant there just wern't enough of them. Also the pool was closed and the gym did not have enough equipment to cover users

Noisy all over

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Its central position .
Cons: A decent makeup mirror and maybe one that could be taken out of the bathroom that would stick to one of the other mirrors and some better lighting
Location: It was very central and we were able to walk to most things. We used the eating hall on george street. It had great soup.
The staff were very helpful but the music in the entrance was far to loud and very intrusive in the restaurant. The menu in the restaurant needs some change through the week.We stayed in and ate in house every night and would have appreciated something different

Great location, close to shopping, entertainment

The room we had although it was on the top floor on level 11 it had next to no view. The room and cabinetry was aged and needed updating.

Hi Sharon, Thank you for your feedback. The hotel is one of the most historic in Sydney and as such there are some aspects that reflect this heritage. However, we ensure the rooms and facilities are neat, tidy and very well maintained. A room refurbishment is in our capital expenditure plans which will result in a substantial improvement to our products. We hope that you will return again soon, and look forward to welcoming you back to The Menzies Sydney. Warm regards, Michael Smith

Nice Hotel close to all amenities

Posted 22-Jun-2015
Pros: Location, rate, linen and breakfast.
Cons: Update the bathroom. Supply hot chocolate or milo (for kids) and a cup for each guest.
Location: Walking distance to Sydney tower, Circular Quay, George Street shops, Darling Harbour. Great location!!!
Lovely, friendly hotel staff. A stunning hotel in the lobby, although our room was a little tired. Beautiful linen on the beds, but only 2 towels provided for 4 of us (sure this was just an oversight). The breakfast was outstanding.

looked good but was let down by room & Restaurant

Posted 17-Jun-2015
Pros: The exterior, entrance , and staff were welcoming and pleasant. The bedding was clean and comfortable, room was quite spacious and clean
Cons: Restaurant service standards.
Location: Good central location, rail links and good higher end retail outlets
We arrived and reception was good. We went to room it was cold. We tried adjusting air/con but didnt make much difference, we rang reception and they supplied us with a very small fan heater and advised air/con was to cool room. We later went to restaurant for dinner and hoped room would heat up. The restaurant only had about a quarter of the menu available, none of which was appropriate for my daughter and no alternatives offered, no drinks order taken till meal was served and my steak was cold, head waitress offered free drinks as apology, even the candle wasnt lit on the table. After dinner we went to have a warm spa only to find the spa pool was very tepid, not at all warm. Overall the hotel staff were good and helpful to their capabilities, poor service from the restaurant and hotel was well below the quality i expected from a hotel of this standard. Room heat was only just sufficient on return to room for night.

Central Hotel close to everything

Posted 11-Jun-2015
Pros: The friendly staff, the olde worlde decor & atmosphere and its central location where you can walk to everything you want to do while staying in town.
Cons: On a long week end it was a pity the Piano Bar was closed on the Sunday.
Location: You are close to the retail in Pitt Street Mall, The Theatre(s), The Rocks and Circular Key.
The hotel had 100% occupancy for the Queens Birthday long weekend but the staff were all smiles and very obliging to any request. Our room was spacious with a king bed and very comfortable. We explored the markets in The Rocks and lunched at Circular Quay admiring the Harbour Bridge and Opera House and all the boating activity. That evening we had cocktails in the One Four Dinner Bar relaxing in front of the great new fireplace and soaking up the atmosphre. That was followed by dinner in the restaurant where the food was exceptional despite being very busy. Our stay was very pleasing and we left feeling terribly spoilt, relaxed and cheerful. We'll be back soon!
