“Great Convenience & VERY friendly Staff.”
We were greeted with a very warm welcome and all of the staff were extremely nice, including the cleaners who always seemed to go out of their way to help you. The room was a standard room on 20th Floor. Ok View not of hyde park, but very clean and comfortable. This room came with access to the Executive Club which although it was fantastic and convenient, it didnt look like an 'executive lounge' (especially the toilet was dirty) but in saying that they had a great view of hyde park and a wonderful spread of fruit, breakfast, lunch and dinner every day & tea and coffee. This is always nice not to have to pay for...
“Nice Hotel, Excellent Location, Reasonable Price”
We stayed at the Sydney Marriott hotel in late April 2011. After reading the reviews on this web site I choose it because of its location, and we were not let down. The hotel is located next to the Australian Museum (which is great for mums, Dads and Kids), over the road from Hyde Park and is just outside the CBD for shopping, eating etc. Sydney Opera house was only a 20 min walk away, and my 4 yr old daughter could manage the walk without needing a stroller / buggy. The condition of the hotel was quite good, although there were some elements of the room that were showing wear and tear. Service from the staff was quick and efficient and they were always there to help. The breakfast is fairly limited, but we found you could gobble enough fruit and cereals to keep you going all day, even with all the walking around. The pool is on the roof and is outside, which meant it was too cold for my children to use. There was a spa tub inside that we all bundled into instead. Changing rooms in the gym / spa are EXTREMEMLY limited, so worth using a robe and going back to our own room to change. The only downside was it was a little pricey, but for the central location, its a price worth paying. Very happy, with two happy children and lots of fond memories
“nice hotel but expensive”
friendly and helpful staff
“Not a good experience and too expensive”
The location is good but th rate was quite high compared to other hotels in the same location.
“A lovely place in Sydney”
In the middle of sydney, absolutely well located.
“Best possible location for a hotel in Sydney!”
Best possible location for a hotel in Sydney! Equally close to everthing Sydney has to offer. Easy access to mass transit. Beatiful view of Hyde Park. Would stay there again. Down side, buffet breakfast is way over priced for what is provided. Good food, just way to expensive. Hot tub was murkier than I thought it should be.
“Good Marriot experience”
It is nice to arrive oto friendly service and the feeling and comfort of home. Marriot Sydney does give you that level of comfort. Everything worked and we particularly liked the miicrowave in the room such that we could fix ourselves some simple oat breakfast as we were tired of eating out everytime everyday.
“A Good Stay”
The hotel has all the features one needs. Its close to many restaurants, supermarkets and strolling through Hyde Park is a good way to start the day. My only issue was that the cleaning staff although booked for 3 people kept taking the 3rd set of supplies (bathroom linens and kitchen supplies) away. Otherwise a very good holiday spot.
“Great hotel experience”
We were very impressed with Sydney Marriott from the time we checked in at 6 am and they immediately got us into our room (we have found that very seldom in Europe or the states for that fact). The room was large and spacious with a nice view of Hyde Park. We did not eat at the hotel (too busy walking the town) but the rooftop pool is awesome with one of the best city views we have ever seen...and the pool was heated in off season. The hotel is about a 30 min. walk from the harbour, but it is a nice scenic walk if you're up for it. We would definitely stay here again!
“Match what I paid for.”
Nice as I expected.
