“Fantastic Service at Club Sofitel and immensely comfortable beds!”

We booked a standard suite for 2 nights and upon check-in (which was quick and efficient) we were upgraded to a luxury suite with access to club sofitel! The room (1430) had a view of the courtyard and was immaculately presented. The king bed was immensely comfortable...i had to convince myself to get out of bed every morning! Club Sofitel was fantastic! They provided us with a cooked breakfast, afternoon tea and canapes with alcoholic drinks in the early evening. The staff were courteous, friendly and always had a smile on their face. We had a late flight and although we had to check out at 11am, the staff at the Club Sofitel held onto our bags to allow us to wander around the city and even offered showering facilities/change room for when we wanted to freshen up before our flight. The location is convenient. A short walk into the shopping district as well as to Circular Quay. I recommend this hotel (particularly a suite with Club Sofitel access) and will definitely be staying at the Sofitel Wentworth in Sydney in future.

“Bad front desk services”

received many complain from customer for the bad services from the front desk. Room booked but check in with downgraded room. Bad communication between front desk & in-house reservation manager.

“Nice Hotel but.........”

Whilst the Wentworth Sofitel is a nice hotel and reasonably well positioned staff attentiveness is somewhat lacking. Check-in took an half hour as only one person was at the desk. The concierge is not very friendly although the junior staff were friendly enough. Another point to note is that our bathroom did not have towel rails that were suitable to hang bath towels which made it impossible to be "environmentally friendly" and not expect towels to be changed daily after use.

“Felt pampered”

This is truly a luxury hotel. I spent my last 3 nights here and really enjoyed the comfort and pampering. They offered me an upgrade costing $60 a night for use of their lounge and I took it. It was well worth it, it included full breakfast, afternoon tea with goodies and yummy hors d'œuvres at happy hour in comfortable cozy surroundings away from it all. By this time, I had done most of the site seeing I wanted and I spend time relaxing in this friendly environment where I could help myself or being waited on. I also enjoyed watching the US Open tennis tourney on their big TVS.

“pretty run of the mill”

It was expensive, even at the Expedia rate. But then beyond that, things were expensive. Somewhere near $30 a day for internet hookup is extortionate. The buffet at breakfast was close to $30, too, and I would rate it OK but not at all special. Service at breakfast was indifferent. The bath in the hotel room was uncomfortable. The disinfectant in the main entry around the check-in desks and lifts was always noticeable. My wife apologised to me for having insisted on it as an upmarket hotel, given how ordinary it was. One nice touch, a gesture towards the principle that it is a French hotel, was the day's Le Monde there in the coffee bar.

“Simply Wonderful”

This hotel is simply wonderful. The rooms are great; and the bed is just devine. But most importantly....the staff were brilliant. From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel welcome and special. Incredibly professional crew at this hotel. It is also located in a really convenient spot - everything within walking distance.

Area recommendations

Check out all the obvious icon spots, but also Balmain on a Saturday or Sunday for a great pub lunch in a lovely Sydney suburb!
