“too loud but great location.”

the monorail and airconditioner were a bit loud otherwise a comfortable stay.

“OK hotel at the price”

Overall it was a reasonable hotel but there were a few things that weren't right... make sure you're not on a low floor on the road side of the building as the road noise is not pleasant. Also, I ordered room service which was nice enough but not what I ordered. The gazpacho was not much more than tomato juice in a bowl that was far from chilled. The fish and vegetables were covered in a green peppercorn sauce which wasn't mentioned on the menu at all. And the beds and the pillows were very firm. On a more positive note, there were good inexpensive places to eat near by.

“Average”

Hotel was ok, nothing really wrong but nothing too special it. Good, clean room at a reasonable rate and close to Darling Harbour, Chinatown and Public transport. Service was friendly enough, just don't get your hopes up.

“Good location but tired decor”

This hotel is in a great location with a decnt pub attached and on the doorstep to Chinatown & Darling Harbour. The staff were friendly but the 20th anniversary rate we stayed there on was more disclosing need for an update to it's decor.

“Needs refurbishment”

I would not recommend Novotel Rockford to anyone. I have stayed there in the past and the hotel was never this bad. The walls were marked, sheets were old, bath mats had holes/tears, the walls had been part painted in different colours. The reception staff were not switched on ! Please choose another hotel at Darling Harbour.

“Great location”

Close to Paddy's Markets, Monorail stations, China Town, Entertainment Centre across the road. Was great

“Great start and finish to overseas holiday”

The hotel was in a great location and within walking distance of many of the sights of Sydney. It was easy to get to Pitt St Mall to shop and just as easy to get to Darling Harbour for a nice meal. Chinatown is right next door. I would stay at this hotel again happily.

Area recommendations

Darling Harbour for great restaurants and activities. Chinatown for the atmosphere especially at night. A ferry across the harbour is great fun. Also a harbour bridge climb is a must. Great views and unique experience. Getting out of the city to the Blue Mountains is recommended.

“Good location in Sydney”

The hotel is situated very close to China Town and Darling Harbour so there is plenty to see and do within easy walking distance.

Area recommendations

Darling Harbour is where all the action is in the evening when the whole place comes even more alive. It is fabulous to sit in a bar, watching all the boats coming and going.

Getting around

There is a very good "hop on-hop off" bus operating in Sydney with a separate bus taking you to Bondi Beach. It is a good service to use to see the City. Another option is to buy a one day pass from the Central Train Station and this enables you to use the ferries, trains and buses all day long. There is also a free shuttle bus that operates until 5 p.m..
