Close to international airport

Convenient if you are flying in or out of Sydney

Pros: I can rely on them
Cons: restaurant menu is a bit restricted for the price.
Location: As indicated, this hotel is very convenient for people transiting through Sydney airport. Given that their is not much to do around the hotel.
I appreciate the convenience and consistency of the service provided by this hotel. The hotel has a good understanding of their potential clients and meet all expectations for persons who have just flown in or are on a flight out of Sydney.

Average Hotel, Close to the airport

Pros: The bed
Cons: A lot
Location: It was just a bed before an early flight.
No concierge , Parking extra, no mini bar, elevator broken, vending machine broken, little or no staff. Television reception less than average. Construction site, Apart from that it was fine.

Helpful stay

Pros: It's position was excellent
Cons: Access was compromised by building activity
Location: There is an excellent supermarket in walking distance
The hotel made leaving for overseas much easier being able to stay so close to the airport

Great location

The Mecure is a great place to stay if you are heading out of Sydney early in the morning as it is only minutes from the International airport. Our only complaint was that we weren't able to stay longer to enjoy the complementary upgrade and excellent facilities. Perhaps we'll be lucky and have an afternoon flight out next time. Highly recommended!

very good hotel but felt cheated on phone charges

Pros: see above.
Cons: if you are going to charge exorbitant rates give clients some warning. At least make it very clear in the room literature. explaining why would help.
very good hotel and the staff were great. location is great for day hotel and getting to/from airport. However, I was charged $3/min to use the room phone. I could not find the phone rate in the hotel literature in the room. I guess I should have checked with the staff but I really needed to use the phone and never imagined the rate would be so outrageous without warning. I made 4 or so phone calls, all of which were brief except for 20 mins on one call and yet was charged $125 for calls that were all in the Sydney and Newcastle area! later the same week I had to call Australia from Papua New Guinea and the rate was one third of this rate for international calls. I would be very interested in how the hotel can possibly justify such a high rate.

Nice hotel about $12 taxi fare from Int. Terminal.

Pros: The value for money i.e. good overall package for the room rate so close to the airport.
Cons: In a perfect world, the right double glazing would make the room quieter - rooms at Novotel / Auckland Airport are superb.
Location: We found a supermarket close by and the train station was within walking distance.
We were looking for a Hotel close to the airport, well priced with reasonable comfort level - Mercure ticked all the boxes. The Hotel staff were most helpful upon arrival and departure. The room was very clean and tidy with acceptable noise level considering the motorway was quite close. We would stay here again and be happy to recommend it to fellow travellers.

Convenient for staying overnight at airport to catch an early flight. Only a 7 minute drive to airport in shuttle.

good for one night

a bit difficult to find for a foreigner. it was very close to the airport and there is a shuttle for $6.00 a person each way.
