Has slipped

Posted 22-Apr-2015
Pros: Reception staff helpfulness and quality of accommodation
Cons: Restaurant staff, food list and service
Location: Close to airport, M5 tunnel entrance and rail links.
Due to apartments being built next door, the main entrance and parking area have changed. This detracts from the ambience in the restaurant. Restaurant staff don't seem to be of the same calibre as previously.

Good hotel close to airport without any noise

Posted 20-Apr-2015
Pros: Location, price and good memories
Cons: Update elevators. Cracked tiles are not a good look to start your stay. Soundproof doors of rooms
Location: Fairly central to most areas for airport, beaches
Unfortunately there is a major construction underway right next door which has reduced the carp ark to utter chaos in the mornings with so many courtesy/tour buses in all sizes. Had no trouble finding a car park each day in the allocated parking areas Service was very good.

Dear Chris, Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay with us. With our neighbours undertaking building works we have seen a reduction to our parking capacity however once the works are finished you will see significant improvements to the look and feel of the hotel - we are really excited for the changes! I am thrilled my team has contributed positively to your stay as we are working hard to refine our customer driven culture. Reading your review confirms our hard work is paying off, so I will be sure to share this feedback with my team. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Mercure Sydney International Airport, the next time you are in Sydney. Kind Regards Richard Holt, General Manager

convenient location but what a mess!

Posted 08-Apr-2015
Pros: The hotel is good, the access and adjacent area are to be avoided
Location: Sydney International airport
Mercure Sydney Airport deserves a 4 star rating but it is surrounded by huge apartment blocks under construction. Also the access is hopeless due having no right of way onto a very busy road

Dear Anonymous Guest, Thank you for providing your feedback on our hotel. Taking away the external factors, such as our neighbours and the traffic, we are extremely pleased with your acknowledgement that we are deserving of our 4 star rating. My team is working hard to deliver exceptional experiences in lieu of what is happening outside the hotel and once the projects around our hotel are completed, this will improve the feel of the hotel and its surroundings. Just in regards to your comments about the traffic, the roads into airport precinct are generally busy as with most Airports however the past week has been school holidays for NSW schools thus the airport has seen an increase in demand. We thank you for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future. Kind Regards, Richard Holt General Manager

Convenient to the airport & transport to the city.

Posted 11-Mar-2015
Pros: Convenience as stated above.
Location: I use this hotel as it is close to the International Airport and very convenient when leaving Sydney the next morning after staying here overnight.
I have stayed here a few times before and it is now my hotel of choice when travelling overseas from Sydney. My greeting was pleasant as usual and I like that I was not pestered by porters wanting to take my bag up to my room. I prefer to take care of this myself. Other clients may want this service and I am sure it is available if required. The location suits me as I like to visit family to the north of Sydney Harbour and I can walk to Wolli Creek Railway Station and catch a train to Woolstonecraft. It is also only about a $20 taxi fare from the Domestic Airport Terminal and the $6 shuttle from the Hotel to the International Terminal is a good deal. At the end of the day I want a convenient, clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay so I can get a good sleep the night before travelling.

Price is fit for a king but nothing comes with it!

You have to pay for parking, which is more expensive than the car rental itself. Pay for wifi that doesnt work.

Dear LKA, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent stay with us, although it is disappointing to read that you have not necessarily enjoyed your stay with us. We have addressed the issues concerning our WiFi service; the past month has been extremely busy for the hotel and consequently our Internet has seen an increase in demand which we have since rectified. Car Parking around the airport is always a sensitive topic, however we believe our parking rates are quite competitive in comparison to the airport precinct however we do take your feedback on board and will consider this with future decisions regarding parking. I wish there was more we could have done to improve the quality of your overall experience with us. We wish you the safest of travels in the future. Kind Regards, Richard Holt General Manager

Sorry we came back

Posted 25-Feb-2015
Early check in was great until we saw the room. Bath was stained grey but it was not dirt ? Paint maybe? Room was shabby one undercoat of paint on bathroom door frames! We stayed here less than a year ago and cannot believe how bad this place has become. Building going on next door did not help. Very disappointed will.not be back.

Dear Monica, Thank you for providing your feedback on your recent stay at our hotel. It is upsetting to read your review as this is not reflective of what we strive to achieve here at the Mercure Sydney International Airport. We want our guests to walk away glowing from their experience and on this occasion we have let you down. I will be asking my team to look into this matter however I understand this wont be of benefit to yourself at this given stage. I would kindly ask that you give us a second chance as the hotel is undergoing a transformation both to the precinct but also in the way we strive to deliver unique guest experiences to each of our guests. If you ever find yourself in the area, we would love to welcome you back to experience this first hand. Kind Regards, Richard Holt, General Manager

In desperate need of a facelift, I would rate this hotel a 2.5 to 3 stars.

Dear Danie, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the Mercure Sydney International Airport. Our team are constantly working hard to deliver an exceptional customer experience for our hotel guests so I am disappointed that we have failed to deliver on this occasion. Our hotel is currently undergoing changes to its exterior, as you would have seen during your stay and we anticipate this will improve the overall feel of the hotel once complete. Furthermore, the majority of our guests rooms have now undergone a refurbishment with plans to refresh the remaining few in the near future. I assume you may have been allocated to one of few that is on this list. If ever you are in town, we encourage you to give us a second chance so we can demonstrate to you the level of service that we strive to deliver here at the Mercure Sydney International Airport.
