“Dont get a room near the hotel”
We asked for a quiet room, but it was the closest room to a hotel which played loud music with partying patrons til 3am. Got very little sleep unfortunately. Not very impressed.
“not impressed had to wait for more then 2 hours to check in”
not happy at all we had to go to an afternoon function and had to wait in the bar area for more then two hours- the whole idea was to get some rest before we went but that did not happen. Also when the room was ready we were not told- we had to go to the reception to ask again-
“Bad experience”
I had a very bad experience during check-in. we had booked room for 3 adults, but they gave us room for 2 adults. Initially told us that they will charge for extra bed. There was hardly any place for extra bed. They also told us that in that hotel they do not have any room for 3 adults. After lot of fights, they agreed not to charge for extra bed. This episode spoiled our entire stay.
“Awesome Breakfast”
I have stayed here numerous times for work and as such I was familiar with the hotel. The Sirocco restaurant is fantastic for breakfast with a make-your-own juice bar and custom made omelettes. It's in a great position: about 15 mins walk to Pitt St Mall or Oxford St in Paddington. Highly recommended.
“Family hotel, adult location”
The hotel and staff were great! It is conveniently located directly next to the Kings Cross train station. However, Kings Cross (we now know) is well know for its adult shops and businesses. When walking to a restaurant one night, we had to turn around after a few short minutes because the advertisements outside businesses were inappropriate for children. We always felt safe, though.

“Bad Condition and Bad Part of the Town”
Condition of the Hotel: The first room I checked into was in really bad condition. After I requested for a better room, I was able to checked a better room. Bad rooms: If you enter the lobby, rooms entered by left side elevator Better rooms: If you enter the lobby, rooms entered by right side elevator Staffs: Helpful and polite Location: It is located in where adult entertainments are frequently seen. Overall: Do not recommend especially those traveling with families.
“Simply the best”
We stayed in a number of hotels ie Adelaide, Alice Springs as well as in Sydney during our trip. I travel a lot and this hotel must be one of the best I have stayed in. Good on you Holiday Inn Potts Point.
“great location”
Room was spacious and bed firm. No mini bar and toiletries are by request. Two stops from the city on the train. Close to all Kings Cross attractions. Easy walk into town. Leisurely walk to the Opera House and Bridge.
“Decently placed hotel”
A "good" Holiday Inn with comfortable rooms, half of which have a great harbour view. Restaurant reasonable for dinner, which was good as there was little choice in the immediate area. Less than half an hours walk, mainly through the park to the opera and the harbour. Would certainly seriously consider staying there if in Sydney again
