"Wonderful stay"
A bit of a trek to find my room which confused me on arrival at night but when I opened the curtains the next morning the sea views and balcony were fantastic.

"Great location for proximity to the airport"
The check in process did not make it clear that to leave the hotel by car you had to have your parking ticket validated at reception, this caused an unnecessary back up at the exit gate.

"Great experience in Dublin. "
First time visitor to Dublin. This hotel is great. It is an older hotel but the rooms are very modern and comfortable. I wanted a quiet hotel so I chose to stay a short way from the city center. It is a very brief walk to public transport to city center. The staff was very helpful. I also enjoyed that the hotel provided tangible rewards to the guests for participating in energy conservation efforts. For those that drive, there is on site parking.

"Decent value for the money"
Travelling as a family of 4 that includes 2 teens, it's hard to find an affordable and big enough room. We were touring Ireland and stayed here our last two nights so we'd be close to the airport but could get on to the motorway and head off to explore the Bru na Boinne area on our second-last day (we previously stayed a couple of nights in Dublin but the cost was almost double). While a car is really needed for convenience (though buses do go by along the road), we had a waterfront room, and the place was quiet (but didn't have a lot of guests as we were travelling in the off-season). Hallway noise does carry into the room. The bathroom was updated and clean; the drapes were worn and the roll-away bed mattress was too thin for a young teen reaching adult weight, but otherwise the room was clean and warm and plenty big enough, and the beds were quite comfortable.

"Easy access to airport"
The hotel was booked late and it worked well. The parking is expensive. Close to Malahide for a nice night out. It is what it says on the tin.

    Pocket Guide: Sutton

    Hotels @ Sutton

Sutton promises a warm welcome to all its visitors and you can be safe in the knowledge that the range of hotels in the area caters for any budget. From luxury hotels to homely bed and breakfasts – and even a refurbished fort – there is accommodation to suit every taste.

Sutton is wonderfully located in Dublin’s Northside, at the base of Howth Head, on the peninsula forming the northern edge of Dublin Bay.

There are a number of hotels in Sutton itself, centred on Sutton Cross, the main commercial district. But the whole Dublin Bay area has accommodation with the warmth and character that is to be expected from this friendly city.

With Dublin airport only a short drive away there is the added option of a number of airport hotels that give the visitor a chance to sample the delights of Sutton while still being handily located for any trips further afield.

    Hotels for Nature Lovers

With its rugged coastline and sandy beaches, lovers of outdoor pursuits and water sports will want to be based as close to the water as possible. Birdwatchers, anglers and sailors will all be keen to make the most of the accommodation on offer.

The Perfect Place to Stay in Sutton for Fans of Golf

Fans of the fairway are well looked after in this part of the world. As well as a picturesque links course in Sutton, the Portmarnock Golf Course is located just to the north of the town. Golfers of all standards can stay in the hotels near to the course to make the most of their time here.

    Hotels with Sutton Charm

With Dublin city centre so close it is remarkable how unspoilt Sutton and the surrounding area is and this does limit the number of hotels available outside the main urban area of the Irish capital.

But with accommodation to the standard of the Marine Hotel – situated ideally at Sutton Cross – it is not something to be unduly worried about. With its rolling lawns stretching to the shoreline of Dublin Bay, visitors are advised to book up early. But if you do miss out there’s always a warm welcome at a few comfy bed and breakfasts just a few minutes down the road.

For those wanting more of an urban experience there are plenty of hotels to choose from in the centre of Dublin, but if you plan your accommodation early enough a relaxing stay in Sutton is guaranteed.

    Planning Your Visit to Sutton

Visitors should think about booking their hotels early if they are planning to join in with the world famous St Patrick’s Day festivities in the middle of March.

Sutton is also ideally placed both for the Dublin Bay Prawn Festival at the start of June and also April’s Midsummer Arts and Literature Festival in neighbouring Howth.

Where Will You Stay in Sutton?

With the tranquillity and serenity of its coastal location, and the cosmopolitan Irish capital practically on its doorstep, Sutton is a wonderful place to visit at any time of the year and its hotels are always ready to welcome you with open arms.
