Basic, but Comfortable. Friendly and good food
This is a Budget no frills place to stay. We have now been here twice, to attend a Music event the rooms are separate from pub, in the rear Garden. Basic room, no shampoo Shower Gel ect , but Has Tv ,tea making facilities. And panel electric heating Comfortable bed, had a lovely sleep. The food and menu is good, and the staff are so Friendly and welcoming , especially the Manageress. The locals are also very friendly. We love this place

Good value for money for this area. Don't be put off by it being a pub. Rooms are in separate building at the end of the garden, the garden bar closes at 10pm and garden at 10.30pm. Even though the band were playing till much later, we did not hear a thing. Too shattered after long drive, otherwise would have stayed up for band!!!

don't forget your soap!
there was no soap at all, not to wash hands or shower with. There was only a few sheets of toilet roll. Not a good combination. The bathroom had a fan that sounded like an airplane taking off! So it all had to be done in the dark, as I was up late, and away early.... all with nothing to wash my hands with. It wasn't really appropriate to go into pub to complain, it was sat night and a band was on. Overall the place was grubby.

Won't be staying again
The pub has been renamed Holroyd suburbs and is aimed at the student market. That said, there wasn't any disturbing noise on a Tuesday. The room was not particularly clean with large cobwebs in the corners and some mold in the shower. The toilet seat was poorly fitted and wobbled disturbingly. The extractor fan in the bathroom made a very loud rattling noise. The bed was uncomfortable and the duvet was a bit thin. Overall the impression was of a cheap and slightly tacky flophouse. Not worth the money.

Very friendly & welcoming team. Would highly recommend the tasty burgers! Had a lovely cooked breakfast delivered to our room too. Room was a bit dated, but didn’t bother us at all. Free parking on site was great.

Decent size room which was clean& tidy. Well worth the money for the price charged & the breakfast is good as well. Staff very friendly & helpful. Definitely recommend to stay especially if seeing a gig here.

ok but not one for early nights or early starts
there was a private party in full swing when I arrived - it took about 20 mins to get someone who acknowledged my booking and took me to the accommodation. It was in a separate block but the banging base was still disturbing until spot on midnight when it was turned off. I needed to leave early and was told breakfast was not served until 9:30. The room was clean but a bit tired looking and slightly cramped with three single beds.

I would avoid, very unpleasant experience
Stayed here for two nights; to note, the only reason we booked this place was to watch the Rugby World Cup on Saturday morning, before a wedding. Had a couple of really uncomfortable incidents that support my low rating. First was my "check in" - walking alone into a busy bar full of old men with my suitcase, the bartender doing a shot before serving me, having to sign my details on said bar and told "don't knock over the beer!" Then being led through the punk show and smoking area to get to the rooms out the back! The next day, my partner and I saw they did "breakfast from 10am" but the bar was closed. We knocked on the door to be told by the woman that her husband agreed to it, she knows nothing about it and they're closed to clean so "sorry." - most unapologetic... So that was really very disappointing. No less, the bed was uncomfortable (could feel the springs), the shower had mould in the grouting, and while there was no smoking in the rooms, the hallway smelt of cigarette smoke. Really disappointing all round, especially as we had called ahead to check, and were looking forward to a nice weekend away.
