“Great Friendly Hotel”
This hotel is located close to Gatwick Airport, I use it whenever I fly out. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but comfy, the breakfast is very good, full English or continental, buffet style, a great way to start the day and once again restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. Also as a solo traveler I feel safe in this hotel.
“Good location”
The hotel appeared to be in need of a face-lift...but it was adequate for a short over-night stop prior to an early morning flight from nearby Gatwick Airport (five minutes away). It was a surprise to find an old multi-storey car park...with the exit requiring a token from reception. It was similarly surprising when the token cost £6 ! A late evening check-in was met with little enthusiasm by the gentlemen in Reception.....but on arriving in the small, but adequate bedroom it was clean and suitable for the occasion. The bar appeared to be in the need of a make-over, but thirst was dealt with...although the disinterest of staff was again apparent.
“Close to the airport”
This hotel is close to the airport. I've stayed in this hotel just because I had to catch an early flight. It's good enough if you just need to spend the night. Although I did notice the towels for some reason smelled like vinegar. Don't know if that's how they wash the towels or if it is due to something else. Overall, it's is ok to stay at this hotel, if you need to catch an early flight, otherwise I can't imagine having to travel from downtown London to Gatwick airport.
“Great cvonvenience-Gatwick”
This hotel is conveniently located near Gatwick airport. The bus connection is very good running every half- hour. The rooms are the size required by transit pasengers. Food is tasty and apppealing in serving. The only drawback ois the hotel is overly heated to the point the rooms are uncomfortable.I would stay again and will.r
“Reasonable and comfortable”
A much cheaper option than staying right in London. Shuttle to and from Gatwick, 3.50 pounds / person. In village of Horley, 10 or 15 minute walk, restraunts and shops. Lidl, Waitrose supermarkets. Good chain pub restaurant, Fayre and Square, reasonable price, good food. Horley also has its own train station, you don't have to go back to Gatwick, to take train into London. Older hotel but clean and convenient. Having been to London before didn't feel the need to stay in the city.
“functional but dated”
Handy and functional for Gatwick Airport but be warned - the shuttle bus service costs £3.50 one way. And as the hotel is off a roundabout, if you don't have a car it's an extra £7 on top of your stay to get anywhere!
“Gatwick No Go”
I stay in a lot of hotels and would consider this the very low end of the spectrum. Everywhere I visited in the hotel spelled like a combination of cigarettes and dirt. The room was extremely out of date, the bed was uncomfortable, the carpet looked like it hadn't been replaced in at least a decade. The service was good though and they helped. It was not a good experience over-all and I would definitely not recommend this hotel. They need to tear it down and start from scratch or do a serious renovation.
“Amazing value for money”
If you are looking at this hotel at the discounted rates often offered by Expedia, it must be one of the best deals in London. The hotel itself is perfectly reasonable. Rooms are small by US standards, and the decor showing signs of its age, but they are perfectly adequate, and the rate makes it a steal for staying in London. One tip: you have to take a shuttle bus from the airport (as with most Gatwick hotels) at a rate of 3.50GBP. The relevant shuttle, G3, runs every half hour. Rather than waiting, you can also catch the G1 shuttle, which runs every 15 minutes and goes to the Holiday Inn (100 yards away across the road) and to the Travelodge Central Gatwick (just yards away from the BW Moat House).
“Gatwick Hotel”
Basic hotel near Gatwick airport. Nothing fancy but worked fine for an early morning flight. Shuttle bus to airport was fast and not very expensive. Check in and check out fast. Bed okay. Airconditioning worked.
“Decent enough”
Hotel and room were clean and in good shape with the exception of the bed which was a lumpy torture device. Walls are thin, I could hear everything happening in the next room. Location was very convenient to Gatwick.
