“Pleasant enough”

Reception staff were pleasant, restaurant staff also good, if a little too attentive - only one other table occupied at the time - room was unremarkable but good enough, the only thing worthy of complaint was broken bathroom scales, so really a stress-free stay.

“Not worth it”

First of all, the tried several times to recharge me for the room, even though I showed that I had paid through expedia AND produced (at my own expense) my bank statement showing it had been paid. It was ridiculous. Plus, not all the amminities they list are in the rooms (for example, no hair dryers were provided and when I asked for one, they said they didnt provide them). My room was never cleaned when I returned for the day and I had to call housekeeping daily to have them give me towels or empty the trash. There was a fridge in the room, but it didn't work. Neither did the a/c. The location is nice, but it's quite a ways from the nearest train station and it cost 90 pounds to catch a cab from the airport (after they emailed me that they would send someone to pick me up for 35 pounds....and they never showed--no apologies were given, and I had even confirmed the night previous). I will NOT stay here again.

“Standards have slipped”

We have stayed at this hotel numerous times but I have noticed standards slipping of late. This time around our room had a musty smell and we had to open the window despite it being freezing outside. The towels in the bathroom didn't have that freshly washed smell and were rather rough to the touch, The bathroom needed a good dust. On the plus side, the hotel is very convenient for Kingston & Surbiton and the beds comfortable. I hope the Management take note of the above!

“You'll Need the Postal Code to Find the Hotel with a GPS/SatNav”

This is a very nice, newer hotel. If we had been able to easily find it, all would have been perfect. We rented a GPS (SatNav) with our rental car at Gatwick and tried to key in the hotel address. No street number for the hotel is given. Turns out that is not uncommon in England. Bizarre. Finding the hotel was extremely stressful and took hours. So for tourists who, like us, are used to using a GPS by keying in a street and street number, remember to key in the postal code instead. At least you will end up somewhere close to where you want to be.

“modern design, home-style service”

Tucked into a corner of sleepy Surbiton on the Kingston border, this hotel has the aura of a chic metropolitan boutique hotel, scaled down. The rooms are very small but efficiently appointed, comfortable and clean. The restaurant is good, the bar reasonable. Service is excellent. It's only a 5 minute walk from the Surbiton train station, between which is a fine little wine store; there are a few extremeley good local pubs serving quite upscale fare. All in all, a great stay if this is the area in which you want to be.

“Very Modern Hotel”

A very clean and comfortable hotel with a modern look inside. Very attentive staff at the desk and the bar.

“Ok for what we wanted”

Brand new and very clean - we only stayed one night as we were going to a friend's 40th in Surbiton. Polite and helpful staff who were happy to call a taxi for us immediately. Hotel is easy to find if driving. Car Park is attached to the hotel but is quite a walk from the main entrance as it is behind the hotel. Position is convenient for public bus transport and it is possible to walk along the Thames to Kingston (about 2 and a half miles). Hotel is closer to Surbiton than Kingston, but both are lovely areas to shop, eat, visit etc.
