OK, let's get one thing clear. Finding anything like a decent hotel for a sensible price in the Silicon Valley area is now becoming extremely difficult. Real prices have more than doubled in the past nine years that I've been staying there regularly.
The Larkspur Landing is a perfectly acceptable hotel. Room are large, with a kitchen. The staff are invariably cheerful, and very helpful. There's a decent fitness room. For me personally it is extremely well-located, and is right off 101 and 237.
You have Dish and Dash right next door, and Hobees is just down the block.
The parking area is excellent - I've never had a problem finding a slot.
The downsides of the hotel:
First, the general colour scheme is "dowdy" - sort of muted greens and browns. The whole hotel looks like it could use a new paint job and new carpets.
The breakfast is basic, but it's free. The problem I have is that the breakfast area is so small - especially when they have a conference in the hotel that uses the overflow room.
The other big issue is that the refrigerator in the room is incredibly noisy. It sounds like a plane taking off! Coupled with the noisy in-room air-conditioner you may find it's a problem if you are a light sleeper. Don't think about opening a window instead - remember you are close to 101, 237 and the Central Expressway :-)
We had to book a trip last minute to San Jose area and much to our surprise almost every hotel was booked solid. There was 3 rooms available at Corporate Inn so we booked them and hoped it would be at least clean and decent but much to our surprise we were very happy with hotel. It hosted a 6 to 8 PM complimentary wine, beer and appetizer event and extended continental breakfast. They had complimentary protein bars, fruit and bottled water at the reception desk and what a treat it was considering most of the 5 star hotels I usually stay at charge $5 for bottled water. It hosted a 6 to 8 PM complimentary wine, beer and appetizer event and extended continental breakfast.
The hotel is close to the light rail and has easy acceas to the Levi's stadium. The hotel condition isn't bad. The cabinets could use a little conditioning but other than that it was excellent. But that's knit picking. The staff is so nice and have great manners. They even went the extra mile by referring us a taxi and giving us information about the light rail.
This bicyclist-friendly town just south of San Jose has been nicknamed “Garden of the World” for its abundance of orchards. Learn about its once-booming defense industry at the Iron Man Museum, a one-time factory. Admire Sunnyvale’s softer side at the Lace Museum, home to U.S. lace handiworks. Downtown’s historic Murphy Avenue offers an eclectic collection of cafés, breweries, and ethnic cuisine.
