Cons: More information upon check-in
The keystone lodge was a little further from the action than we had planned but that was mostly due to an early thaw that closed down the ice rink. The shuttle to and from the gondola was wonderful but it would have been nice if the front desk had mentioned this to us upon arrival. We were lucky enough to have been told by a shuttle driver who watched us unload. All in all, we were very happy with the hotel and the service.

Great location!

Pros: Location
Just a quick trip to enjoy the sights and activities. Snow level was down and temps were warm so some of the activities were shut down do to the lack of snow and higher temps but can not complain about the Lodge and Spa. Nice, neat, clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Would def return.

Very warm setting.

Pros: Location and staff.
Cons: Add refrigerators to the rooms.
Location: Plenty of shops, restaurants and winter entertainment for singles and families (all ages).
Excellent location. Clean and family friendly. Staff was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the property and surrounding area. Will definitely return.

Good location, but to less value for money

Staff is uninspired! The Bad experience started at check in. The young lady was talking like a robot. Poor customer orientation continued as we asked for support to print vouchers for ski area. "No. You have to do it on your own." Not sure about cleaning staff either, we found underware in the drawer from a previous guest. The SPA area with the pool and the sauna are more a playground for kids and less a recreation/relax area. The area us not clean either as people walk the wet room with boots and hicking shoes. Management seems to be poor as this is all obvious and can be seen by executing spot checks. Positive: staff in the breakfast restaurant.

Facilities were very nice, but beds were lumpy and one of the mattresses had a slope! So not a great place to sleep.

One has to spend time in the hotel first

Posted 09-Mar-2015
They canceled the reservation I had and gave me a downgrade while telling one lie after another . The last lie was , that I made a reservation with keystone ( which is false as Expedia only deals with the lodge and spa) . I checked in at 2 , they said come back in a hour and took out car ( Vallet parking and the luggage) , I came back in 3 and all was gone so they sent me to a studio ( they told me it was a 2 bed room condo!!?? Did not have one bed in it !)run by Wyndham near by ( cheaper by 100 dollars a day) They must have given mine to someone else who paid more at a short notice. But the way they lie and go about their business is disgusting.

Expensive for what you get

Posted 09-Mar-2015
Pros: The weight room, steam rooms, the pools.
Cons: Lower the price. Provide breakfast. The valet parking is rough and takes too long especially in the evenings.T
The hotel is expensive for you get. The room was nice but small. The hot water did not work when my wife wanted to take a shower after skiing. There was no refrigerator in the room. We were expecting a complimentary breakfast like other properties in Keystone but they did not offer it....again, for $350 per night??? The exercise room is very nice as well as the outdoor pool and hot tubs. The problem is that the pools and hot tubs are crazy with rowdy guests beginning at about 4:00 pm. Again, we would not stay here again. Much better value can be found elsewhere.

Room Amenities were comprimised upon our arrival

Posted 08-Mar-2015
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The Entire Guest Relations Staff, All Mgers & the GM Angela Need to go Back to School to Understand what the Basics are in Providing Quality Cust Serv
Prior to Boarding my plane @ KCMO Airport on 2/2015, my wallet was unfortunately stolen. I had contacted The Keystone Lodge & Spa & talked to Guest services Representatives & a Variety of Managers & made them aware that all of my credit cards were stolen & I was unable to provide a Credit Card for them to retain for Payment of our Lodging there. However I did have the ability to transfer funds from My Credit Union & was able to print out a statement to show proof of Funds of $90K in the Account. I talked to Guest Services & Multiple Mgrs on Saturday & Sunday & was assured that the transfer of funds would not be an issue until I went to the Front Desk on Monday when we were checking out & then I was told that the transfer of Funds was not going to be acceptable. Fortunately my Traveling Partner Had an ATM Debit Card & I was able to transfer enough money to her Checking account to pay for our Room Charges & also Get us Back Home to KCMO.

Overpriced

Posted 04-Mar-2015
Unable to make it to our hotel due to a snowstorm and the hotel refused to refund us for one night. However, I had called to tell them so they were able to use the room for someone else and they did! We were unable to get directly into our room because it had been used. Everywhere at the resort had overpriced food and water and the service at the cafe was horrendous. I wouldn't stay there again.... There are plenty of nice places near by. And the pool is not at all an indoor pool!
