nice stay near ski resorts

Posted 28-Feb-2015
Pros: Hotel was close to ski resorts, other restaurants, department store and the highways.
Cons: Perhaps some sort of discount to the restaurant.
Location: location was close to cross country skiing, restaurants, Walmart. great access to the highways.
Overall stay was fine. We booked the hotel to have a room before the snow storm hit so we did not have to drive in the worst part of the storm. The room was fine but a bit small. Beds were comfortable. The room got a bit too warm when we turned on the heat, but got cold when the heat was turned down. We could not find a happy medium. We found out that there was no complimentary breakfast due to the restaurant in the building. For the price we paid for the room, we felt there should have been some sort of discount to the restaurant.

Hotel near Breckenridge Ski Resort

Posted 27-Feb-2015
Pros: Close to the Breckenridge Ski Resort
Cons: Better service, better food at the restaurant;
Location: Did not do much other than go to Breckenridge........
The experience was okay........I wasn't too happy with the staff since information regarding the busing was confusing and inaccurate; ultimately I had to figure it out on my own. The restaurant food was average at best and service was so-so.

Simple Hotel right off of I70

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Firmer pillows, faster wifi.
Location: Right off of I70, quick drive to Breck, Keystone, or Copper. Free shuttle bus also available for those that don't rent a car.
This hotel is located right off of I70, which is really convenient for driving to any ski resort around Summit county. We chose this hotel because it was the only one not booked during the week we had vacation. Check-in was fast and straightforward. The room we were first given had little to no wifi connection, and we were informed to call a number for direct connection to our devices, which did not help. Once we were moved to another room, our wifi signal was much improved, though the wifi service overall is slow, basically for email and web browsing. The location of the hotel is also convenient to grocery shopping as well as fast food places. Everything else about the room itself was as expected, a small king bed room with an additional lounging chair, desk with chair, microwave and refrigerator. All your basic needs for getting through a ski vacation. I'd recommending bringing or buying your own pillow however, as the pillows were so uncomfortable that it was difficult to get a good night's sleep on them.

Shop worn but convenient

Posted 26-Feb-2015
Pros: Frisco is getting gentrified...whole foods nearly next door! What makes or breaks a hotel are the beds and they're fine here.
Cons: Public spaces, room furniture and furnishing. It gets a fair amount of use...and it shows.
Location: Powder skiing when the conditions are right!
A Holiday Inn that has seen better days, it's still a good deal and is very handy for a base camp for skiers.

Friendly & Easy to find location

Posted 23-Feb-2015
Pros: Relatively quiet. Clean comfortable room with easy to use free internet.
Cons: Maps! The layout is crazy and hard to find lobby, fitness facility, etc.
Location: Easy to find from the highway. Not too far away from lots of stuff like stores, gas, restaurants, ski areas but not very close either.
Worn but clean. Staff is very friendly. Location is easy to find and convenient to gas stations and stores.

Ok hotel, good location, cold shower

Posted 18-Feb-2015
Pros: location, staff was friendly
Cons: cleaner room, hot water for showers.
Location: good location with skiing close by, shopping center across the street
It was an average hotel. The room was dated. The staff was friendly. The shower was cold. Hot water for only about a minute. I complained about this to the front desk staff and they said they'd contact the manager. However, there was nothing else done about this.

Not worth the price

Posted 17-Feb-2015
Pros: Free wi-fi. Microwave and fridge in room
Cons: Upkeep
Location: It's in Summit County CO so one of the best playgrounds in the world is a short drive away
This hotel is much more expensive than nearby hotels. And even if the price had been half of what we payed we would have been disappointed. The bathroom door (cheap hollow door) had two big holes in it, one of which had a crumpled up piece of duct tape crammed in. The refrigerator wasn't working; when I called the front desk they said "oh, you have to reach behind it and turn it on" - I had to pull the refrigerator out and find the knob to turn it on. The receiver on the phone didn't work so you had to use the speaker phone for all calls. The carpet looked and smelled like something from an old truck stop. The bathroom in the lobby had no toilet paper in any stall and no paper towel. On the plus side, when we complained the manager agreed to refund some of our money.

Holiday Inn

Posted 10-Feb-2015
Pros: The location.
Cons: All areas of maintenance, customer service and cleanliness. I believe the front tenant would be more efficient without the dog.
Location: The location is close to many attractions. I would suggest finding other accommodations as there were several hotels located in this area.
I booked two rooms, I requested that the rooms have a good view of the mountains. When I arrived, the attendant was enjoying the company of his dog. He explained that they both live at the hotel. The attendant checked my reservation and said that something had come up and he had to give us handicapped equipped rooms at the bottom of the hotel. Once entering the room, there was a strange odor. Furthermore, my TV changer did not work, the shower leaked all over the bathroom and I had to place several towels covering the floor and hang them in the shower to drip dry. I went to the hot tub and it was not working. This is certainly not what I expected from a Holiday Inn.

Shabbiest overpriced hotel I've ever stayed in.

Posted 09-Feb-2015
Pros: It was available. Now I know why.
Cons: See above.
I guess I should have known when it was one of the few rooms available in the area, but I figured it was a Holiday Inn so it should still be OK. It was OK, but for $300 a night, I was expecting something a bit better than OK. The rooms were clean, but the hall smelled and had cracked ceiling tiles. I doubt the hall carpet had been cleaned in quite some time, which may have contributed to the smell. The outside door said that it required a room key to open, but it opened without a room key which left one with a less than secure feeling. Overall it was Motel Six quality at a Hilton price. Very disappointing.
