Stayed for just the one night, a Saturday, as working locally over the weekend. Having read the previous customer comments, I was slightly worried what I would find, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Manager was very polite and efficient, the room, although small, was perfectly adequate for the one night and came complete with a large TV and nice en-suite. Bed was comfortable and room was clean and ladybird free! The breakfast was fantastic. I chose Eggs Benedict which was very tasty and fresh.
I struggle with some of the other reviewers expectations of The Grange. You get what you pay for and I can only speak as I find - which was it was great and does exactly what it says on the can. I will return again next year...

We stayed in an executive room which is big and nicely furnished. The bathroom is very clean with a bath and a separate shower. The shower is powerful just the way we like..
Breakfast is good and the kippers are the best we ever had. We had dinner in restaurant the first night and enjoyed it.
We took the footpath from the hotel and walked to Lowestoft via Oulton Broad. It was lovely walk with beautiful scenery.

there was no phone in the room and when I received pnone calls from my family the reception hang up the call.I was told also to pay my two nights stay even though I had already paid the fees to expedia and I had confirmation this is why I CANCELLED MY STAY FOR THE SECOND day EVEN SO IT WAS ALREADY Paid AND BOOKED WITH ANOTHER HOTEL .
We booked for a last minute Easter weekend night away for myself, husband and two children (aged 14 and 11). It was excellent value for a family room, which was really spacious with a view of the golf course. The room had 2 double beds and plenty of room for us all - only downside was that they prepped it for 2 guests rather than 4, but as we were only there for a night it didn't really matter. It was extremely clean and well kept, if a little dated decor wise. The TV also had limited channels, but again for one night it was fine.
Our stay included full use of the spa facilities and we spent a lovely afternoon in the pool, steam, sauna and jacuzzi. Children are allowed in the facilities between 5 - 7pm and again in the morning (9am - 10am I think). There are lovely loungers around the pool and all the spa facilities are close at hand. I also had a treatment and the prices are very competitive.
We didn't eat in the hotel, but went out to a nearby pub in Nayland, which was excellent.
Overall the hotel is in a lovely area and has great facilities for a family night away. They are currently being refurbished and the reception area was looking really nice. I presume some of the more tired corridor areas will eventually get done.

A beautiful old hotel but a little worn round the edges, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a building of this age. The staff were all, without exception, very friendly and extremely helpful. If you want modern bathrooms and perfect interiors this hotel is not for you. But if you prefer huge rooms (both bedroom and bathroom were probably the largest we've ever stayed in at any hotel) with lots of character and staff who go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay you will adore this hotel. The restaurant food is very good too. Great breakfast which was freshly cooked to order.
Stayed at the Ufford Hotel as qas attending a family wedding. The hotel itself was lovely. Room was spacious and very clean, food was delicious and the staff very helpful. Sadly my children didn't have time to use the pool which looked lovely. I went to visit the hair salon to discuss an appointment I'd booked for the following day. I arrived at the hair salon at 3pm to find it closed when it was meant to shut at 4.30pm. No sign up explaining why. This didn't fill me with confidence so I cancelled my appointment.

This was our first time at the Black Lion Hotel. We booked 3 nights but wished it was more. Staff were friendly and sociable, food was excellent, room nice and comfortable and with an excellent location. Really enjoyed our stay. ( You must try the black pudding at breakfast time).

Very pleased to have found this hotel. Nice décor and lovely location on the Broads. Good menu if you use the restaurant. I thought £6.85 for a large New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc was a bit pricey - but only £6.99 for a great carvery so it balanced the bill out.
