I was slightly apprehensive because of the cost (£30), but delighted when I arrived. The Bay Horse is a traditional local pub with traditional pub atmosphere and welcome. My room - number 5 - was round the back and very quiet. It was clean, large and with plenty of shelf space to spread my things on. The shower was excellent, with a good non-slip floor and plenty of hot water. I suppose you could say that it was not ""posh", but was certainly superb value for money. I definitely recommend it and would certainly stay there again.
Stayed for just the one night, a Saturday, as working locally over the weekend. Having read the previous customer comments, I was slightly worried what I would find, but I was pleasantly surprised. The Manager was very polite and efficient, the room, although small, was perfectly adequate for the one night and came complete with a large TV and nice en-suite. Bed was comfortable and room was clean and ladybird free! The breakfast was fantastic. I chose Eggs Benedict which was very tasty and fresh.
I struggle with some of the other reviewers expectations of The Grange. You get what you pay for and I can only speak as I find - which was it was great and does exactly what it says on the can. I will return again next year...

We stayed in an executive room which is big and nicely furnished. The bathroom is very clean with a bath and a separate shower. The shower is powerful just the way we like..
Breakfast is good and the kippers are the best we ever had. We had dinner in restaurant the first night and enjoyed it.
We took the footpath from the hotel and walked to Lowestoft via Oulton Broad. It was lovely walk with beautiful scenery.

A very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms and excellent food. This is the only hotel I have ever stayed in which had real ground coffee, and Redbush tea in the room. I would definitely recommend this hotel
We booked for a last minute Easter weekend night away for myself, husband and two children (aged 14 and 11). It was excellent value for a family room, which was really spacious with a view of the golf course. The room had 2 double beds and plenty of room for us all - only downside was that they prepped it for 2 guests rather than 4, but as we were only there for a night it didn't really matter. It was extremely clean and well kept, if a little dated decor wise. The TV also had limited channels, but again for one night it was fine.
Our stay included full use of the spa facilities and we spent a lovely afternoon in the pool, steam, sauna and jacuzzi. Children are allowed in the facilities between 5 - 7pm and again in the morning (9am - 10am I think). There are lovely loungers around the pool and all the spa facilities are close at hand. I also had a treatment and the prices are very competitive.
We didn't eat in the hotel, but went out to a nearby pub in Nayland, which was excellent.
Overall the hotel is in a lovely area and has great facilities for a family night away. They are currently being refurbished and the reception area was looking really nice. I presume some of the more tired corridor areas will eventually get done.

Having read the mixed reviews we were interested to see what we our experience would be. Made to feel very welcome. A little surprised as we were shown upstairs to see table tennis table in front hallway - but why not! Our en suite room although not luxurious was perfectly adequate and clean
and was reflected in the price we paid. It was nice to have armchairs to sit in front of the windows and admire the sea views and be amused by the seagulls skating down the roofs opposite! We had use of the kitchen for tea/coffee making as we wished. Info re where to visit/eat etc. was offered and we were encouraged to use the garden and terrace as if it were our own.
Service was exemplary and 10/10, but sadly the age of the building was evident and tired! In desperate need of fresh paint and new ( or cleaned) carpets. I'd expected a little more cared for facility for the price! The staff were super helpfull and deserve full compliments of this traveler!
