Visiting my daughters for Thanksgiving from CT... I booked the wrong dates for a single room with a queen size bed. When we arrived we had already paid for one of the nights that we weren't there for. I felt embarrassed but the staff assured me that it happens quite often and they offered us an impressive upgrade because our room wasn't available for the other nights. If you stay there, especially with a family please get one of their apartments. Open floor plan with full kitchen stocked with pots, pans, dishes, glasses, salt and pepper, broiler pan etc... Dining room, half bath and a beautiful living room with gas fireplace. Upstairs was even better.... King sized bed, full bath, another gas fireplace and Jacuzzi and again beautiful décor. I have to mention the extensive property and how nice it was to take a walk in light snow on a cleared brick paved walkway with old style lanterns. Quaint shops next door and a great breakfast buffet offered in the hotel. We didn't want to leave and we will be back!
We only stayed for 2 days 1 night weekend getaway with the girls. We had alot of fun. The hotel staff were all very polite. They let us check in early. Everything about this place was great from beginning to the end. We ate at their breakfast place, went in the jacuzzi and pool, even played a litte air hockey. They have a nice gazebo in the back. It is close to alot of things. Cant say enough about the place. We cant wait to go back next time with our husbands.
We loved our stay at Stowehof. We last stayed here 3 years ago for Christmas week and enjoyed it so much we decided to return. It was chilly so we made a fire in the lovely corner fireplace. Very cozy. The room was charming and clean. The bathroom is a little outdated but squeaky clean. The bed was super comfortable; ditto for the linens. The complimentary breakfast was a cut above. We had scrambled eggs, blueberry pancakes and bacon. I am fussy about coffee and I was not disappointed in Stowehof's. We were visiting Stowe to look at lots to build a retirement home. We drove up the road to Smugglers Notch and hiked a short distance to Bingham Falls. The entire topography was verdant and postcard beautiful
