My son-in-law and daughter recommended this hotel to us and they were spot on with it. Very 'English' in nature and quirkiness. The food was excellent both at breakfast and dinner, staff were helpful (I needed a footstool to get in to the four poster bed!) and overall it was a good experience. I loved the autumn decorations. Only downside was that the view from my room was around 3 ft gap to another room.
At first I was worried when I arrived to find no one at the front desk. There was an after hours phone # which I called and was given the code to the front door by a very pleasant person who instructed me where to find my room key with a map of the property to easily locate my room. This was a great room for the price, very comfortable bed which was hygienically lined. In the morning I had a very pleasant conversation with the morning staff over a nice cup of coffee. The dining area is very nice and I regret not being able to stay for a proper meal, but I was there on business. I would stay there again. Great hotel, especially for the price and very nice staff. Two thumbs up!

This resort is fantastic for couples, families, friends -- people young and old. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are large and comfortable, and there's plenty of activities to keep you entertained. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly, and they clearly like their job. Every evening, you'll get a printout of the next day's activities -- everything from yoga classes, guided hikes, photography and cooking classes. The gym is great, complete with cardio and weight equipment, a climbing wall (for a fee) a pool and jacuzzi, and a sauna. Try the Trapp Family Brewery just down the street, which offers four or five lagers to try. They have a nice outdoor deck with tables or you can sit inside. They also serve a limited, more casual menu than the main restaurant in the lodge.
We visited in the fall, but I would stay here anytime during the year. They offer such a variety of things to do, you won't be disappointed. This hotel is well worth the cost. I'll be back!
