Do not stay here! We were on our way to Maine driving from Texas to visit family. Had been driving all day, it was late, and we were desperately ready to stop and rest. Found Hilltop Inn on the Hotels.com site & the price was decent so reserved the room. The few other options were very expensive. The one picture does not represent anything to do with the property. The outside looked fair so went ahead with the non refundable booking. The lobby is nice & updated, the front desk clerk was pleasant & check in was quick and easy. She said we were lucky because it was the last room, they were full because of contractors. We thought ok, this will be fine. WRONG! The outside side entrance door had no security or lock, the carpet on the stairs was filthy, the door to our room was so difficult to open my husband had to kick it open. The room key card was covered in “something” so obviously had not been cleaned or sanitized. The carpet in the room was filthy and stained, hadn’t been vacuumed recently, baseboards loose with debris behind them, bed skirts had burn holes and stains. The headboards were peeling, and the whole inside needs a complete renovation. I could barely stand to stay, almost went to our car to sleep, but couldn’t get our money back so crawled into bed and finally got some sleep. The bed was fairly comfortable and the sheets were clean but old looking. Hotels.com and Expedia need to remove this property, disappointing misrepresentation at the very least!
