“Above average, but needs improvement”
Clean and neat but the rooms themselves were pretty small - not much room to walk around in and we were upgraded to a superior room so goodness knows what a standard room was like! Felt a little claustraphobic at times particularly as the window overlooked one of the dining areas and not to the outside. The floor slopped upwards towards the window so was strange to walk on. There was an odd smell from the bathroom thanks to an open drain under the bath - smelled of sewage at times and was made worse by the underfloor heating - the bathroom was particularly smelly in the mornings! The hotel is undergoing renovations and there can be noise between 9am and 6pm - if I was advised of this by during the booking process I would not have booked to stay here as the sound of drilling above your head at 9am is not a pleasant sound. Staff very pleasant and professional.
“2 stars maximum”
Walls in the room were dirty. The bath tube was shaking. The smell in the bathroom was terrible. The towels were not changed during two days stay. Only one working elevator from five.
“Nice but pricey.”
My family and I took a cruise out of Stockholm and stayed here one night before returning home. This hotel is a very nice business hotel. The world trade center is very close. It is right next door to the Central Station so catching a train is a breeze and getting a connection to the airport is very easy as well. We walked to the Vasa museum and back, so location is great. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly. The only downside is the $$. Stockholm is a very expensive city to visit. My family and I took a cruise out of here. Families of 4 or more will have to have two rooms. The price you pay for the hotel you would expect to be staying in the Waldorf.
“Good value”
Hotel location was very convenient., right next to the train and bus terminals Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff very courteous and helpful.
“Convenient if you want to tour, but surroundings a bit rocky”
I opted for this hotel because it was close to transportation, ferries etc., and the Old City. But the area leaves something to be desired. It is right in the middle of the area of Stockholm which the Swedes unaccountably elected to "blitz" in the 1960s in order to "modernise". Most European cities followed this path because they were bombed out in the war. In this case the Swedes chose to bomb themselves. The result is the most unattractive section of the city, which in turn has attracted low lifes, graffiti, etc. To find a decent restaurant, you have to cross town. And most museums are a decent hike. But, that said, it is very convenient for boat trips and generally getting around, with the central station and metro stop right alongside. And the hotel is fine, excellent buffet breakfast, good roof top bar, quite extraordinary gym facilities, and generally helpful staff. If you can get into a hotel in the "smart" area of town (I could not), I would take that in preference to this one, just to be in nicer surroundings. But if you only need a perfectly acceptable hotel and are not concerned about the neighbourhood, this one will definitely do just fine.
“Good comfort hotel”
The hotel is extremely in good location, nearby central station. Hotel staff is really helpful to offer a new furbished room to us.
“Great location, but very pricey for old and dated rooms”
If your traveling via the Stockholm C station this hotel is just steps outside the stations doors. The lobby was very nice and presentable, however once I got to my room I was quite shocked and disappointed to see how dated and old looking the room and bathroom was. In my opinion this hotel was over priced for what the room was and you are paying for a clean place to sleep and its location. Cant say I would stay there again personally.
“Great Place - Even Better Location!”
Lovely hotel! Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The pool/sauna/Jacuzzi area was divine! The room was warm and inviting after a long day out in the cold. The location is absolutely perfect if downtown Stockholm is what you're aiming for. You're literally right next to Central Station and on the same street as all the major shopping destinations. I'd love to stay here again!
“Recommended”
Excellent hotel in an excellent location next to the Arlanda Express. And a leisurely 15 minute walk to the Royal Palace in Gamla Stan. Nice rooms, with a Scandinavian log cabin feel to it. Only downside was the pool was shut on the 1st January, which was the only day we wanted to use it. Overall, recommended.
“Good stay in Stockholm”
Good location, easy to find, to reach. Junior suite is very small, not very comfortable, but there is everything you need.
