This is a lovely hotel, with pretty rooms and good amenities. We stayed for two nights mid-week and felt that that the hotel was a perfect stop in the city. It is very centrally located - so much so, that I didn't use the metro at all (although I don't mind a bit of a walk to get to know a city). There are plenty of good restaurants nearby (especially Rolf's Kok) and traditional café just down the road with amazing pastries.
That said, the breakfast was pretty impressive for a 3 star hotel. Plenty of cereals and yoghurts, hot food and cheeses, meats and traditional herring. Despite the size of the breakfast offering, we both felt that it was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts we had experienced in a while.
This is not a five star hotel, but considering the price, the location and the rooms, you really can't fault Tegnerlunden!
Great b&b , the island experience was fun. Delightful staff. Real fun experience.
Take an evening picnic over and picnic outside the fortress overlooking the water, loads cheaper than eating in Vaxholm.
One member of our group walked with walking stick, it was quite a walk through the fortress to the B & B and pulling bags along so maybe not ideal for those with mobility problems .
Cost of morning /evening taxi was 200 krona so quite pricey , try and share.
stayed here since no more (payable) rooms have been available in stockholm and I didn't mind the 1 hour train journey. the hotel itself is nice and clean. liked the maritime decorartions. the town itself seemed a bit deserted for a friday evening.
This hotel is located centrally, only 2 mins walking from the waterfront so it's really convenient if you want to explore the city on foot. Our standard room was interestingly decorated (the bathroom was beautiful) and quite big compared to what we expected. The beds itself were super comfy but not fixed together as one queen and could easily move what was annoying. We appreciated the complimentary water in the minibar which was refilled every day. The breakfast was basic and lacked warm buffet - no scrambled eggs, etc. However, definitely book a table for dinner - the restaurant is pricey but delicious! Overall, we really liked the modern decor of the whole hotel, the bar, speaking lift, unusual reception and super friendly staff.
