Lovely Stay

Posted 03-Nov-2014
We had a relaxing time at the hotel. The staff was friendly and efficient. They made us feel welcomed. Our parents had their anniversary dinner there which the staff made sure was a special occasion. The facilities and condition could be updated but it did not detract from the pleasant stay. The grounds of the hotel is beautifully scenic. We look to staying with them over the Christmas period.

Picturesque hotel beside a beautiful Scottish Loch

Posted 03-Nov-2014
Pros: Pleasant grounds to walk around, which are nicely maintained. Very good and full breakfast menu for those on a B&B stay (great value).
Cons: Free WiFi signal throughout hotel was very poor for iPhone or Tablet, but seemed okay for use with a laptop. Boosters throughout would be of benefit.
Location: Plenty of forest walks and activities as well as many beautiful lochs to drive around and explore.
Stayed for 5 nights. This was a good base for exploring (by car) a large area, including Stirling, Edinburgh, Glencoe Pass and Oban as well as the more localised beautiful lochs and forests.

What a view!

Posted 30-Oct-2014
Pros: Everything! Great room with a great view!
Cons: Children's food menu could do with refreshing,my daughter wanted lasagne and I asked if she could have a junior size portion. To which we was told no.
Location: Did not go anywhere we just used the facilities.
We only stayed for one night due to us moving on to Edinburgh we loved it! It never stopped raining when we arrived but it never bothered us! A wonderful stay and our children loved the pool area.

Impossible to be anything but delighted with the setting; and the hotel was ideally located for a round of visits to family members living in the immediate neighbourhood. However - and this is very much a matter of personal preference - although the staff were competent and friendly and the standard of service was more than acceptable, the hotel was just too big, corporate and impersonal. My major criticism is to do with condition of the building. Two examples: 1. The partition walls between the bedrooms are thin, possibly just two layers of plasterboard, meaning that even low-voiced conversations by guests in adjoining rooms can be easily overheard. 2. The quality of the woodwork lets the entire hotel down. Doors, window sills and bannisters were scratched and scuffed and in need of polish and paint; and the internal doors were made of cheap hollow plywood. If you are really interested in further details, I would be happy to discuss in a spirit of positive criticism.

quirky but lovely place at a beautiful spot. the staff is a bit formal or perhaps humorless. but the room was great, as was the view, as was the breakfast, as was the wine lounge. fellow guests seemed happy and happy to chat. good for couples or families

Relaxing with all you need.

Posted 10-Aug-2014
Pros: Views, grounds and relaxing atmosphere
Cons: Updating website when something like the games hall is not available for me than a couple of days.
Location: Go country is a must with all the outdoor activities.
On arrival we had been upgraded from a hotel room to a lodge which was a lovely surprise. The lodge was a great size with 3 bathrooms and a sauna. Everything you could require was provided and it was situated in lovely grounds. The food was nice but a bit overpriced I would say . We ate out in Aberfoyle the second night and the food was of the same quality but cheaper. This wouldn't stop me returning as I found staff helpful and pleasant whenever we asked for anything. We had the cream tea looking out over the wonderful views and I found this very relaxing. The only thing I found a little disappointing was that the games hall was closed due to ongoing work. I had noticed this on a review from a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be open by now being that this must be their main summer season. We had 2 kids age 9 and 11 with us who still enjoyed the trip .

Pleasant hotel with lovely gardens and views

Posted 27-Jul-2014
Pros: High points were the location and spa facilities.
Cons: Check in was a bit messy and late.
Location: Location was ideal for getting to most local tourist spots.
Relaxing stay for the short period we were there. Excellent swimming pool, spa, and massage facilities with very pleasant staff. Restaurants were very good and the food tasty.
