“Walking distance to Stirling Castle”
Booked for one night but stayed three. It is now undergoing renovation of the façade but this was no problem. Fantastic location, quite good fitness facility, ample parking, comfortable room and reasonable Expedia rate make it ideal to explore Stirling and its surroundings, including Glasgow, Linlithgow, Doune and Dunfermline.
“Good location, but in need of uplift...”
Perfect location in Stirling, but the hotel is a bit rundown and breakfast has a lot to be desired. The swimming pool facility caters more to its fitness club members than hotel guests. The staff was friendly and rooms were clean, so combined with it's location it is a good place to stay. I don't consider this a 4-star hotel considering its condition... if the owners would invest in a makeover of the rooms and improve the quality of food at the breakfast, it would be a fabulous place to stay.
“A first class hotel in Stirling.”
It costs more than we usually pay, but with the great breakfast, pool, whirlpool and sauna, we had a great stay. It is in easy walking distance of most of the main tourist sights in Stirling.
“Excellent hotel”
Very nice plays to stay and enjoy historic Stirling.
“A very friendly hotel”
Very good facilities including a leisure centre and pool. Nice room with good seating area so you don't have to watch telly on the bed. Location very good in the centre of the old Town. Staff extremely helpful and friendly so good when travelling alone.
“Stirling Work!”
Good quality hotel in splendid position next to the Castle and easy location for venturing around the city. Room very comfortable and well apportioned. The availablity of pool, sauna and steam room was a definate bnus. Breakfast was good and service excellent. Would use again.
“Very good”
Lovely hotel, great service. Very central. Got the Dinner bed and breakfast deal which was great. Lovely dinner and breakfast, would highly recommend it. Room was lovely, bathroom a little dated but clean and had a good shower.
“Great location!”
Hotel has a really unique location convenient for exploring the old town area. Be sure to walk up to see the castle, catch some music at the Tolbooth, and drop by the Settle Inn. For some reason there was no elevator access for our floor, so we ended up carrying our bags up and down a lot of stairs-- but the hotel was very comfortable and convenient otherwise.
“Fantastic hotel, service and location”
Hotel was easy to find off the main town without sat nav and instructions. Much larger than expected and really good parking through the back into a courtyard. Hotel and room was very good, excellent location beside town and castle. Ran out of time to go to the healthclub but viewed the pool and it seemed very good.
“bit disappointing”
I expected much more from the Stirling Highland. I had been in the Bar and Reception before and had heard good reviews. When I checked in, I was told that we were in one of the new renovated rooms. I was very disappointed. At first glance the room was nice, but the ceiling was peeling, and the tiling in the en-suite was of a very low standard. There was a horrible scuff or mark in the bath which made it look like a dirty mark. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and room was kept clean. I stayed from friday to Tuesday, and found it quite noisey with children in the corridor running up and down. Other than that, everything was fine
