Lovely old hotel in superb area

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: everything
Cons: as above
Everything clean and tidy, only one little moan.Having had steaks the previous two nights we decided to have pasta dishes and we did not think they were quite up to scratch.my pasta was nearly cold by the time I finished.I am sure it would have been ok if the large dishes had been warmed first. Also having lived in Italy I know that the longer you simmer tomato sauce the smoother and more subtle it becomes.Sorry to moan but I hope my views are constructive.

lovely hotel

Posted 13-Jun-2014
Pros: trip adviser
Cons: not impressed with bathroom across the hall,
Location: great location loads of circular walks, close to Shoreham and the coast, lots to see and do,
we stayed for 2 nights in a lovely big room, only negative was we had to cross the landing to our bathroom! taps were broken on the bath and literally came off in your hand, apart from that a nice clean hotel with good food reasonably priced, friendly helpful staff, in a great village, would go back and would recommend,

great value

Monday night is Thai night, which is obviously popular locally, and was delicious.

Beautiful location, great off street parking

Posted 08-Apr-2014
Creaky floorboards, paper thin walls and our bathroom was across the hallway instead of ensuite. The king bed was 2 singles pushed together. Good sky tv in the room. Great access to free wifi, definitely needed in this location.

If you want no sleep stay here

Posted 07-Apr-2014 on Hotels.com
Whilst the pub is nice and friendly the rooms are dates & all the noise from the cleaning in the kitchen could be heard from my room late into the night and early in the morning. I ate here in the evening is there is little else to choose from (sign on room door stating takeouts not allowed). Food was good but overpriced for what you got £10 for a chicken burger with a handful of chips. Service is what you would expect from a country pub but wouldnt stay again.

Lovely hotel close to Brighton

Posted 01-Apr-2014
Pros: Friendly atmosphere and everywhere was very clean.
Cons: There was no menu, no information on meal times and no note of the wifi code in the room. You need to go back to the bar. which is really strange
Location: Near Brighton. Bramber castle and church are well worth seeing and Stenying is delightful. The local countryside is beautiful.
We had low expectations but were really impressed. We were greeted by friendly bar staff who took us up to a freshly decorated room with en suite. Everything was super clean. We ate in the bar and the food was good and the breakfast was lovely too. We will return next time we are visiting relatives in Brighton. My only niggle was that there was no information in the room, see below and that the menu we were given had a tiny selection of food. Once we got to the bar however there was a screen with a good selection of food and it was really tasty. We nearly didn't eat at The Castle Inn Hotel. A little improvement in customer information on arrival would make this hotel superb.

Well located with "Country Pub" feel

Posted 31-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
Friendly staff, clean, good sized room. A place with a "country pub" feel rather than a hotel. Stairs and floorboards a bit noisy, but it's an old building so that has to be expected.
