Delightful pub in a pretty and quiet village

Posted 08-Oct-2014
Pros: Nice food, friendly staff, and a lovely village to explore.
Location: Pretty village, with lots of flowers. The castle is worth seeing, as is Steyning, the village next door.
We stayed in the 'garden room' which was very quiet and had a pretty outlook .

Comfortable Hotel

Posted 14-Sep-2014
Pros: It's appearance and situation and the friendly, polite staff.
Cons: The horrible sliding door to the ensuite!!
Location: There's a bus stop opposite the hotel which will take you to Brighton (and probably other places, but that's what my brother and I did).
Like other reviewers, I could nip pick on minor details about our overall stay in this hotel, but I won't as afterall, this is a what I call a rural hotel and the Hilton! My main gripe was the sliding door to the en suite bathroom. In my opinion this should be a proper door (as there is room to fit one that opens normally), and a light switch/pull actually in the en suite and not a sensor that turns the light on as soon as you pass the threshold which bathes the bedroom in bright light in the middle of the night! I was sharing my room with my brother and neither of us were particulary keen on the gap around the door when it was closed either. Apart from that, the beds were comfy, plenty of room in the wardrobe, the staff were polite and helpful. We only had dinner once on the first night in the hotel but it was very nice as were the breakfasts.

Lovely old hotel in superb area

Posted 22-Aug-2014
Pros: everything
Cons: as above
Everything clean and tidy, only one little moan.Having had steaks the previous two nights we decided to have pasta dishes and we did not think they were quite up to scratch.my pasta was nearly cold by the time I finished.I am sure it would have been ok if the large dishes had been warmed first. Also having lived in Italy I know that the longer you simmer tomato sauce the smoother and more subtle it becomes.Sorry to moan but I hope my views are constructive.

Typical English

Posted 17-Aug-2014
Pros: Bloemrijk uiterlijk.
Eten 's avonds prima, ontbijt is super! Advies boek een klasse hoger ondanks dat de omschrijving voldoet aan het gewenste.

Nice room

Posted 13-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed in the annex with nice sized room and en-suite with power shower, floor boards creaked though!, service was great. Great breakfast. but we had an evening meal there that was unspectacular for what it cost. But would stay again

pretty, cosy, old-fashioned country Inn

Posted 04-Aug-2014 on Hotels.com
If you want the standardized chain hotel room, go elsewhere. This is a cute little Inn, lovingly run with a personal touch. A bit old fashioned, which I consider a plus. Providing a clean room, spotless bathroom, friendly staff (owner family, I believe) with a very good breakfast thrown into the deal. 100% recommendation.
